Fire and Snow by Andrew Grey : Release Day Review

May 19, 2016 by Denise

fire and snowsynopsis

Fisher Moreland has been cast out of his family because they can no longer deal with his issues. Fisher is bipolar and living day to day, trying to manage his condition, but he hasn’t always had much control over his life and self-medicated with whatever he could find.

JD Burnside has been cut off from his family because of a scandal back home. He moved to Carlisle, but brought his Southern charm and warmth along with him. When he sees Fisher on a park bench on a winter’s night, he invites Fisher to join him and his friends for a late-night meal.

At first Fisher doesn’t know what to make of JD, but he slowly comes out of his shell. And when Fisher’s job is threatened because of a fire, JD’s support and care is more than Fisher ever thought he could expect. But when people from Fisher’s past turn up in town at the center of a resurgent drug epidemic, Fisher knows they could very well sabotage his budding relationship with JD.

Heather's Review

I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but I’m beyond in love with the boys of Carlisle! I’m not sure how Andrew Grey does it, but every time a book releases in this series, I fall even harder.

JD and Fisher both have their demons to battle, but Andrew did an amazing job of making sure that their issues complemented one another. They weren’t both so broken that it felt as if he’d tried to write in every obstacle possible. Fisher’s past, combined with his memory and anxiety issues, definitely solidified him as the more damaged character. JD, on the other hand, had faced just enough in his life to be empathetic to Fisher and feel drawn to help him.

It’s understandable that Fisher thought JD was with him out of pity or some sort of need to help someone who appeared to be down, but JD fought hard to prove that wasn’t the case.

As always, there were a few unexpected little turns, which sadly I can’t tell you because you’ll have to read about those in the book, but they were well done.

Fire & Snow by Andrew Grey gave me exactly what I want out of a romance. It was an amazing love story (meaning it’s not the book for you if you’re into porn on paper), I saw the characters grow, not only together but as individuals, and when I closed the book, I was certain JD and Fisher will be one of those couples who grow old together.

deanna review

The Carlisle Cop series is my favorite series by Andrew Grey so I was really excited to get my hands on the new book. Not only was I not disappointed but it exceeded my expectations!

JD Burnside is a cop in Carlisle with roots in the south. JD’s family has turned their back on him in the wake of a small town scandal and he is forced to not only leave the only home he’s ever know, but to find a way to succeed on his own.

Fisher Moreland was in an accident a few years ago suffering a traumatic brain injury which has left him bi-polar. Fisher had a hard time adjusting after his injury and made a few bad choices which caused his family to wash their hands of him. Essentially alone, trying to live a normal life and stay in control of his bi-polar symptoms, Fisher shuts down not allowing anyone to get close to him.

When JD sees Fisher sitting on a bench in the snow he is drawn to the man. A few late night dinners and JD starts to feel a connection with Fisher. Fisher feels it too, but to protect his heart he immediately pulls away. Fisher needs order and routine in his life and JD walks in upsetting his orderly existence. JD realizes that he can’t muscle his way into this one, he will need patience and finesse to win over Fisher.

As a budding relationship forms between the two, JD’s job starts to get hectic. Someone is pedaling drugs through Carlisle, not just one type but all of them. JD and his friends on the force can’t seem to get any leads on the case. As if stress from an unsolved case isn’t enough, JD’s mom makes a surprise visit to town and things really heat up. Through it all Fisher and JD realize that if they have each other’s back, they can weather any storm.

I didn’t want to put this book down. I was so mad when real life interfered with my reading. The story is fast paced and exciting. I was so into the story that when I finally looked up it was 2 AM.

I loved the quiet strength Fisher didn’t even know he had. I loved how JD cherished and cared for him without babying him. I love that JD’s friends accepted Fisher without question.

JD’s mom, what can I say. I hated her…. at first. By the end of the book I really think she redeemed herself, and I loved that she loved Fisher. Fisher may just be what saved her relationship with JD and I love Fisher even more for that.

Everything about this story was amazing; the plot, the characters, the setting, but this is what I have come to expect from Andrew Grey.

excerpt

“Hey, sleepyhead, wake up.” Archie gave a soft tug on Zack’s hair.

Zack yawned and stretched and opened his eyes. He reached up and ran his forefinger over Archie’s lips. Archie caught it and sucked it into the warmth of his mouth.LJBanner300x250

“You can have something else of mine in your mouth, if you want,” Zack said.

Archie’s eyes narrowed, and he released Zack’s finger with a wet smack.

“In front of all these people watching a romantic sunset? Mr Lorrimer-Grant, you are nothing more than a dirty slut.”

“Which is why you love me and I love you.”

Silence wrapped around them shutting out the noise of the crowds and the traffic from the road behind. As Zack gazed up at Archie, the world stopped turning. Archie hadn’t responded, hadn’t said that he loved him back. The warm air felt dense and heavy, like a huge weight had settled on his chest as the words he needed to hear were left unsaid. His chest tightened and grew heavier. Zack tried to fill his lungs with the warm night air, but it was no good.

synopsisAfter a meet-cute in a bathroom and a whirlwind courtship, Ryan is ready to introduce Scotty to his parents. But a misunderstanding and some stubborn cuff buttons tangle Ryan up in an oxford shirt at a really inopportune time. Can Scotty take this opportunity to teach Ryan one or two more lessons about falling in love?

denise reviewI don’t read short stories, pretty much ever. I like to be invested in characters, enjoy (and hate) the push and pull, the hate and love. Yet, this was an Amy Lane short story. Which means that I will read it, because, well Amy Lane does romance right. She will give you angst, and sweet love. She can give you sexy, hot men, and down and dirty sex. But always there is an HEA on the horizon.

I grabbed this one, and was suprised how quickly I liked what happened with these characters. In one scene, you actually saw growth in the characters. (How this woman can take a sex scene, and give you growth in the characters, is beyond me, but she does it so well.) Ryan and Scotty were so cute together, that I was sad when I finished the story…then found out, there was more out there on these two. YEAH!

So, grab this one, enjoy a little romp, some fun, some sexy, and the beginning of a beautiful relationship. 🙂

May 18, 2016 by Denise

tangled websynopsisBy day Ashley Stevens is a dedicated nurse; by night he runs multiple social media sites for his crush and all-time favorite actor, Sebastian Gray. After a particularly grueling day at work, Ashley drinks away his misery while dreaming about being with Sebastian—only to realize it’s no dream when Sebastian actually contacts him.

Sebastian asks him to officially run his sites and Ashley is thrilled—right up until Sebastian makes it clear that he thinks Ashley is a girl. And maybe it’s the wine, or maybe it’s a fear that if Sebastian knew the truth, he wouldn’t want him, but Ashley never sets him straight. But keeping the secret becomes a nightmare as Ashley and Sebastian talk online night after night, forging a true connection. And the longer Ashley waits to tell the truth, the more tangled the lies become.

A plane ticket from Sebastian along with an invitation to meet in New York City for a fan event brings it all to a head. Ashley must face Sebastian and tell all, but he might not be the only one keeping secrets.

deanna review
This was a cute quick read. Sometimes you want a good story but don’t have time for a long novel and this book fits the bill.

Ashley, a male ER nurse spends his nights running a fan page for his favorite celebrity Sebastian Gray. Sebastian contact Ashley, thinking he is a woman to ask him to run the official fan page. Ashley never corrects Sebastian’s assumption and the weeks turn to months. As the two build a close friendship online Ashley knows he needs to come clean but is afraid that the relationship will be over.

Sebastian surprises Ashley with tickets to a fan event for the two to meet. Ashley’s secret goes over like a lead balloon, but he realizes that he may not be the only one keeping a secret.

Original storyline, almost all of the interaction was through social media so there was no heat, just one chaste kiss. I did like the buildup of Ashley’s anxiety over telling the truth and the fallout when he dropped the bomb was believable. I could see this story being developed into a great full length novel, but you won’t be disappointed with the short story either.

The Cattle Baron’s Bogus Boyfriend by Nicki Bennett : Release Day Review, Exclusive Guest Post and Giveaway

May 18, 2016 by Denise

cattlesynopsis

It might be a sham to his boss, but it’s all too real to him.

Administrative assistant Jonah Hollis has nurtured a hopeless crush on his boss, millionaire cattle rancher Lincoln Courtwright, ever since he started working for him. But hope is kindled when Linc and beautiful rodeo star Melissa Cutler break up just weeks before the biggest event of the Dallas social season, the Cattle Baron’s Ball, and Linc asks Jonah to accompany him in her place.

Is it all a ploy to make Melissa jealous? Can Jonah fit into Linc’s world? It takes some encouragement from his roommates and his best friend, Caylee, for Jonah to agree. Before long, Jonah dares to believe Linc might just feel something for him… until interfering family and a series of misunderstandings threaten his fragile dream of happiness.

denise review

The Dreamspun Desires series is full of sweet, a little sexy, and a little angsty books that hit you in the feels. The Cattle Baron’s Bogus Boyfriend is no exception to this rule. It has what so many of the old Harlequin romances had, a sweet virgin, and a strong sexy cowboy who means business.

There were a few misses in this book, chances at showing growth in the characters, and that did pull the overall rating down somewhat.

What I did enjoy though was that although there was the “evil step-mother”, there were glimpses into her caring loving nature. This was the same with all the characters. Even with the stress and anxiety that they had created amongst themselves, they showed that they cared about the people around them, often with the small things, such as Jonah ordering lunch for Linc, or Linc going out of his way to make sure that Jonah was safe and healthy, even when their misunderstandings drew them apart.

The HEA that these two fought for had a winding road through Caylee, but I honestly loved how they found that happy ending. It seemed so true to how I would have expected Jonah to react to something like that.

Secondary Characters

Part of the fun of writing for me is creating secondary characters to help tell the story. The Cattle Baron’s Bogus Boyfriend is told from the point of view of Jonah Hollis, who has a secret crush on his boss, millionaire cattle rancher Lincoln Courtwright. Or a not-so-secret crush, at least to Jonah’s friends in Dallas. Secondary characters, in the form of his roommate Wes and their neighbors Aidan and Sammy, help to reveal information about Jonah without relying on long paragraphs of internal monologue or data dumps of backstory.

The person who knows Jonah best is his childhood friend Caylee Lynch, but Caylee is still back in their hometown of Oktaha, Oklahoma. Though she has an important role to play, we don’t meet her except in references from Jonah until almost halfway into the story. In the meantime, we get to know Jonah through his interactions with Linc at the office and with Wes, Sammy, and Aidan at home.

Jonah’s socializing with his friends shows us that though he’s lived in Dallas for over eighteen months, there’s still more than a bit of the farm boy left in him. Though he’s not the type to draw attention to himself, and he prefers to avoid conflict, he also isn’t a pushover and doesn’t hesitate to put his foot down when he has to. But Wes is a good enough friend that he won’t let Jonah get away with fooling himself about the depth of his feelings for Linc, even when he doesn’t want to admit them to himself.

In creating these characters, I gave them each their own personality and backstory, even if only a part of this makes its way into the novel. Wes is a foodie with aspirations to become a chef. He has a wicked sense of humor, a taste for witty T-shirts, and mixes a mean cocktail. He’s a devoted friend who seems happy to be single, but a part of him hopes for the same kind of relationship Jonah does. Aidan and Sammy are a committed couple but also a study in opposites. Sammy is a willowy, creative—sometimes flamboyant—vegetarian, while Aidan is a more practical, meat-and-potatoes-type guy who has to bring Sammy back down to earth at times. Not all of this may be explicitly revealed in the story, but defining them in my mind made them real people for me and informed their dialogue and actions in a more natural way.

Ideally, a well-crafted secondary character should leave the reader feeling they know him but also want to learn more about him (or her). Maybe that’s why spin-off stories are so popular!

excerpt

“Are you just getting off work?” Wes asked. The bar was small enough that he could mix the drink order and still talk with Jonah. “What did that slave driver of a boss of yours have you doing this late?”

“Mr. Courtwright isn’t a slave driver!” Jonah was quick to protest. “He didn’t ask me to work late, and when he got out of his meeting, he told me I shouldn’t have stayed.” It’s not like he had anything more important to do, Jonah thought, except for the two nights a week he attended the business class he was taking at El Centro community college.

Wes walked the drink he’d been making to the other end of the bar and started mixing another before answering. “So why did you stay, then? I know you’ve got the hots for him, but if he was in a meeting, you didn’t even get to spend the time with him.”

Jonah flushed, but before he could issue a denial, Wes wagged a finger at him.

“And don’t try to tell me you don’t have the hots for him. I’ve spent too many nights listening to ‘Mr. Courtwright said this’ and ‘Mr. Courtwright did that.’ I like the guy I work for too, but I don’t talk about him constantly.”

“It doesn’t matter how hot he is,” Jonah muttered. “He’s straight. I stayed late to order gifts for his girlfriend to make up for him missing dinner with her because he was working late.”

“You need to forget about him and come out with Aidan and Sammy and me tomorrow night instead,” Wes declared, setting the drink he’d been mixing in front of Jonah. “Try that and tell me what you think.”

“You know I’m not much of a drinker,” Jonah said. “I don’t really like the taste of alcohol.”

“That’s why you’re the perfect taste-tester,” Wes replied. “If you like it, I know I’ve got a winner.”

Jonah picked up the glass of icy liquid and sniffed it. He could smell citrus and a hint of something else, though he couldn’t tell what it was. “What’s in it?”

“I’ve been experimenting with making some vodka infusions. That one’s basil with lime juice and a bit of grapefruit juice, topped off with sparkling water. What do you think?”

Jonah took a small sip and then a larger one. “I like it. It’s tart and refreshing, especially on a hot night like this.”

“Great! If Mr. Stefanotis likes it, maybe he’ll put it on the menu.” Wes grinned. “It’s not working in the kitchen, but it’s a start.”

Jonah grinned back. Wes Paterson didn’t look like anyone’s idea of a traditional chef. His spiked hair was currently dyed a deep blue, though he changed its color every month or so—Jonah didn’t think he’d seen its natural color in the year and a half they’d lived together. He was wearing a colorful flowered shirt that didn’t hide the tattoos on his arms, and both ears and an eyebrow sported piercings. Despite his appearance, he was the best cook Jonah knew, even better than his mother, which was saying something. He was also the kindest person Jonah knew, except maybe for his best friend, Caylee, back in Oktaha. Not many people would take a total stranger under his wing the way Wes had when Jonah first arrived in Dallas.

“So what’s good for dinner tonight?” Jonah asked, turning to look at the blackboard near the front door that was the restaurant’s only menu. While a few offerings, like the three-pepper mac and cheese and the fried chicken, were mainstays, the rest of the menu depended on what produce was fresh and what Manny, the head cook, felt like making that day.

“Aidan raved about the brisket tacos, and Sammy had the mushroom quinoa risotto.” Aidan Jacobs and Samuel Tanner lived in the townhouse that made up the other half of the building he and Wes shared, though the four of them were in and out of each other’s space so much they might as well have all been living together.

“Are they here? I didn’t see them at a table when I came in.”

“They went to do some shopping, but they said they’d be back before closing time.”

Jonah decided on the fried green tomato BLT on whole-grain toast from Lembas Bakery, a local shop owned by a lesbian couple who made amazing breads and pastries. He was just finishing up the last of the homemade potato chips that came with the sandwich when Aidan and Sammy arrived, carrying bags from Urban Vintage, a clothing store down the street.

“Jonah!” Sammy said loudly. “Tell me you did not come here straight from work. You’re giving gay men a bad name, dressed like that.”

“What’s wrong with the way I’m dressed?” Jonah asked. He didn’t think his khakis and pale blue dress shirt looked bad, though maybe they’d gotten a little wrinkled between the long day and the heat.

“Have we taught you nothing, child?” Sammy waved a hand to indicate his and Aidan’s attire. Jonah thought the rich purple V-neck Sammy wore contrasted beautifully with his dark skin, while Aidan’s green-and-white paisley accented his pale complexion and red hair, even though neither of them were shirts he’d be comfortable wearing. “It’s too late to take you shopping now, but I’m coming to look through your closet before we go clubbing tomorrow night. If we can’t find anything fit to be seen with you in, you can borrow something from one of us.”

“I wouldn’t fit in anything of yours,” Jonah pointed out. He certainly wasn’t heavy, but Sammy was half a head taller and at least twenty pounds lighter than he was, while Aidan was built like the construction worker he was.

“Sure you would,” Aidan said. “They just wouldn’t hang on you the way most of your shirts do. You’ve got a good build. You ought to show it off.”

Tight-fitting shirts weren’t very practical for working on a farm, but if Jonah said that, he knew they’d just remind him he didn’t live on a farm anymore. And he didn’t have to dress to hide the fact that he was gay anymore either. But that didn’t make him any more eager to wear clinging shirts and skintight jeans to attract attention in the clubs Sammy and Aidan wanted to take him to. “Maybe I’ll just skip tomorrow night.”

“Absolutely not!” Wes interjected. “You deserve a night out after working late today. And besides, the best way to get over your crush on your boss—your straight boss, as you pointed out to me yourself—is to find someone who is interested in you.”

deanna review

I didn’t think it was possible to love Dax and Beckett any more than I already did, but Melissa Collins made that possible with this beautiful story.
This book picks up about 2 years after the On Solid Ground. Dax and Beck have been engaged for about a year and a half, but haven’t started making the wedding plans. Dax is dragging his feet, and Beck can’t understand why. Dax’s nightmares have returned but have morphed into crazy dreams of Beck dying instead of Delaney, Dax’s ex. Instead of talking through this with Beck, Dax starts pulling away. Beck thinks some space will help Dax, but as the weeks turn into months Dax isn’t getting any better and their relationship is strained. It takes Dax talking Micah, a vet from the VA center through a panic attack to get some clarity in his own mind. Dax stops pulling away and starts talking to Beck; they set a date and start planning the wedding.
After a beautiful wedding and a two week honeymoon on the beach, Dax and Beck are back to normal everyday life. Deciding to become parents again Dax and Beck go through the long arduous adoption process. Along the way they have to deal with parenting issues with Violet, Beck’s jealousy over Micah, Dax’s recurring PTSD symptoms, and just when things start to settle down Beck’s father resurfaces. No matter how far life tries to pull them down they know that they can count on each other to pull them on to higher ground.
Where do I begin… I really happy to see that for the most part Dax had a handle on his PTSD but that symptoms did still arise. This is an all too common reality for many of our veterans and I loved that Melissa Collins didn’t romanticize it. Her portrayal of Dax dealing with PTSD made me realize what a difficult reality this is for many men and women, and the people who love them.
Violet, what can I say about little Ms. Violet. She is hysterical, she brought just a touch of levity to some otherwise heavy moments. There is so much sass trapped in the little 6 year old body.
I thought the wedding was beautiful. The vows Dax and Beck spoke took my breath away. I loved how they included Violet in their special day.
I am a greedy reader, I had so many questions I still wanted answered after On Solid Ground. Melissa Collins answered them all, and then some. This was a perfect follow up book. I can’t say enough good things about it. My best advice to you is just to read it for yourself.

I was so happy to get more of Dax and Beck. I really love when authors give a more of their characters after the initial get together phase. Because as we all know, after “The End” it isn’t all perfect. Dax’s issues didnt just suddenly end when he got with Beck and I love that we got to see him again continuing to work at it. It takes hard work to make a life with others and I so enjoyed reading more of Beck’s and Dax’s story. Beck has his own issues to work through as well and I thought Mellisa did an amazing job with this. These are two guys that she has created that you just want to root for. You have the urge to cheer them on and feel their pain. I was so engrossed in this story and I really wouldn’t mind getting more of these two if they start talking to her again, maybe a glimpse of their life after 10 years or so.

✨PREORDER NOW: PARAYZE by @jj_asher_writes releasing July 13th! #PreOrderHere mybook.to/paralyzeWhy you will love this book…🔥Forbidden🔥Brother's Best Friend🔥Age Gap (21/34)🔥Forced Proximity 🔥Opposites Attract 🔥Grumpy/Sunshine🔥Bi-Awakening 🔥Hurt/ComfortCarey—twenty-one, flirtatious and sun-kissed, chasing a place that feels like home. His latest bright idea? Fly halfway across the world to a town he hardly remembers, to crash for the holidays with his estranged older brother who he's scarcely seen in the past sixteen years. Only to arrive on his doorstep to find that brother AWOL and the entire contents of his apartment strewn across the front lawn of the apartment building.Tek—thirty-four, exhausted, and barely holding it together. Deserted by his best friend and business partner, he's left to carry the weight of a tattoo shop in the aftermath of an affair that sent staff numbers from four to one in the space of a single afternoon. He keeps his world small, and his hookups controlled on purpose. Then Carey walks in like a damn storm, making Tek question everything he ever knew about himself. Including why he can't stop thinking about the golden tan of another man's stomach. Tek turns Carey away but desperation rewards his persistence with a job offer, and boundaries start to blur. Tek knows better. He's spent the last decade with the world at arms length with iron clad rules that he breaks for no one, especially not the sunshine-smiling younger brother of his runaway best friend. But the more Tek resists, the more Carey leans in, and the line between right and wrong starts to look too appealing not to cross.Abandonment may have brought them together, but loneliness is what keeps them close. And the one thing Tek swore he'd never reach for again might just give him the extra strength he's always needed. ✨INFLUENCERS: Sign up to release events here: bit.ly/PARALYZESIGNUP#comingsoon #jjasher #mmromance The Author Agency ... ✨It’s cover reveal day for DON’T FALL by @authoremlindsey releasing July 1st!#PreOrderNowa.co/d/00RZxM7KWhy you need to #ONECLICK this book…🔥Enemies to Lover🔥Forced Proximity🔥Only One Bed🔥Praise Kink🔥Grumpy/Sunshine🔥Grumpy falls first🔥Hate Sex🔥Best Friend's Brother🔥MM Romance That’s it. My neighbor has to die. There’s no other way around it. The man must be killed—and I’ll even find a way to do it gently, but this cannot go on.Okay, maybe I’m a bit dramatic, but living next to my brother’s best friend who decided to befriend the crows that spend all week spreading garbage across my lawn is not what I signed up for.I wanted quiet.I wanted peace.I wanted to stop fantasizing about the gorgeous man I couldn’t stand.Unfortunately for me, North is a big presence with an annoyingly sunny smile and a way of making life sound like it’s worth living. And as a widower who wants to spend the rest of my life wallowing, the last person I want around is one who makes me question my new life’s purpose. But these feelings can’t be real, can they? I had my great love, and I lost him. So that’s supposed to be it for me.Isn’t that the way things go?I can’t seem to stay away from North, even when I know I should. And when he starts to make me feel like maybe there’s another happily ever after out there, I find that as cautious as I’ve taken each step, I’m on the verge of falling once more.Don’t Fall is the first book in the small town, enemies to lovers, heavy yearning, MM romance series, Storm Season. It features a virgin EMT whose smile is hiding a lot of things, a disgruntled, grieving writer who just wants solid sleep and a good meal, neighborhood crows wreaking havoc, cooking lessons, hurt/comfort, and a toe-curling happily ever after.✨INFLUENCERS: Sign up here for this amazing release: bit.ly/DONTFALLSIGNUP#coverreveal #emlindsey #mmromance The Author Agency ... ✨EXCERPT: DEVIATE ME by @daphne.thorne.author releasing May 27th! #PreOrderHere a.co/d/0footXlx Damien jumps out of his bed and quickly crosses the room. His soft, naked steps on the hardwood floors remind me of when we were just kids. When he’d sneak from his bed into mine, so that I could shelter him from the loud arguments our parents had all the time. And that’s exactly what he does now; he crawls into my bed.Oh, no . . . Holy shit.I stop breathing as he gets under the covers and curls into a ball next to me, nuzzling his face in my neck. It’s been years since he’s done this. We were both children when it started, and it was a completely innocent thing. It was normal to wrap my arms around his tiny body and let him sleep where he felt safe. Even when we were much older and we’d already run away from home, he’d done this when he’d felt really upset. And I never thought anything of it.This time, however, is different. I can’t stop my skin from erupting into goosebumps, and my heart from beating hard against my ribcage. I can’t stop the rush of blood towards my groin either, which is probably the worst part. Damien’s breath is hot against my skin, and he smells heavenly. His scent reminds me a lot of honey and mint.Fucking Jacob chose his nickname pretty well . . .#mmmromance #daphnethorne #spicyromance The Author Agency ... See MoreSee Less

My review:Hat Trick by EM Lindsey After reading book 1, I couldn't wait to read about the other brothers. We knew from book 1 that it was going to be Micah and Vanya. They had started dancing around each other in book 1.Man, Micah is DAMAGED. Not only his childhood, but his adulthood as well. And then he tops it all off with a stalker that he swears isn't a stalker but ya, he's a stalker.Vanya has nothing but heart eyes for his pretty little goalie. But, in my opinion, takes way too much crap from Micah. But he never gives up. He slows down and steps back but never gives up. Gotta give him patience and tenacity points. When things begin to escalate with the stalker, Vanya always seems to be there to help- much to Micah's chagrin. Remember, always treating Vanya like crap. Which killed me because he is such a teddy bear!We meet one of Vanya's brothers and can we say stereotype Russians much?Although Micah did soften up in the end and Vanya got the love he deserved, there was still a little too much I didn't like. I really hope book 3 is better.3 pieces of eye candy ... See MoreSee Less

✨Let’s celebrate! It’s release day for HAT TRICK by @authoremlindsey! Grab it in KU!#OneClickNowa.co/d/0io1BhPZWhy you need to #ONECLICK this book…🔥Friends to Lovers🔥Only One Bed🔥Sexual Awakening🔥Hockey Goalies in love🔥Grumpy/Sunshine🔥Hockey Bro Banter🔥Praise Kink“For five million dollars, would you send a relative to jail?”"Bud, I would pay five million dollars to send a few there."Problem number one: Almost everything the world thinks they know about me is a lie.Problem number two: Two people know the truth.Problem number three: One of those two is a stalker and he's having a blast using that informationagainst me to get his way.The good news is, the second person who knows the truth about who I am seems pretty dedicated totaking my stalker down. The bad news is, it’s NHL goalie Vanya Maximov, and he and I had a one night stand that I can’t stop thinking about. And while Vanya might be walking sunshine so bright he can make even my blind ass see light, we have no business being together.I’m a mess, and while Vanya is everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner, he deserves better than me.If only he was willing to listen to reason. If only he was less stubborn and able to give up on a lost cause. But with his ability to give me exactly what I want—a little pain with my pleasure—and his refusal to treat me like I’m fragile, something dangerous starts happening.I’m beginning to think that maybe—just maybe—he’s right, and I am worth everything he sees.Hat Trick is the second book in the Punk as Puck spin-off series, Legends and Fury. It’s a high heat, friends to lovers romance with a sunshine NHL goalie who also might be a golden retriever in disguise, a PPHL goalie with big black cat energy, a stalker, and no faith in himself, hooking up in a friend’s car, praise and pain, high stakes romance, hockey bro banter, tons of chirping, and the swooniest happily ever after.#newbookalert #emlindsey #mmromance The Author Agency ...
