Two Chicks Obsessed with Books & Eye Candy

Sharing our love of M/M Romance

release day review

Alfie: Part One by Cara Dee: RB, Excerpt and Release Day Review

December 13, 2024 by Denise

Part 1 of 2 • Second Chances • Irish Mafia • Family • Hurt/Comfort • Age Gap
Two broken hearts, pent-up anger, the right amount of Philly grit, painful yearning, and the complete inability to move on… This is Alfie and West’s love story. It begins in the wreckage they created.

Mom always warned me when I was a kid. Remember, mijo, stay away from the Sons of Munster, she’d say, wagging her finger at me and all. They were bad. They were mobsters. Then we’d head into church, and she’d hold my hand almost as tightly as she clutched the secret of who my biological dad was.

Since I’d been a bit of a screw-up all my life, it only made sense for me to blow it out of the park when I finally gave up on my marriage years and years later. Then again, who could blame me? I had two success stories—my kids. I loved them to pieces. But the man I shared them with—the love of my life—was moving on. I was also done pretending to be someone else, I was sick of the lies, and…to be honest, I was going through an identity crisis.

So, to hell with it. Since West wasn’t taking me back, maybe the Sons of Munster would accept me.

Alfie belongs in the This Life universe by Cara Dee. However, Alfie and West’s story has been written so it can be enjoyed to its full extent as a standalone.

I pulled into the driveway and parked next to West’s Mercedes, and the kids jumped out. They ran for the door, both forgetting their backpacks.

I grabbed them and braced myself for my weekly West spotting.

 Motherfucker.

The front lawn could be a golf green. There was even a tiny fountain at the center with a stone path around it. Flower beds and little trees. Perfectly trimmed hedges. A gardening service that came once a month.

The house itself was a modest monstrosity, if such a thing existed. Luxury on a slightly smaller scale. The second floor had a balcony, with its two pillars coming down to flank the front door. Everything was white and pristine, and the backyard was made for mingling and bullshit like that.

A few times, I’d heard from the kids when West hosted wine mixers and charity events.

I suppressed a sigh as West opened the door, immediately attacked with hugs.

“Hi, Daddy—we’re not late!” Ellie climbed him like a tree.

West chuckled warmly and squeezed them both tightly. “It’s so good to have you home, sweethearts.”

My home is their home too, douchebag.

I wished I could let go of him. I’d done fucking everything in my power to be the man he deserved—and I was still trying, to an extent. But, nada. He’d pulled the plug. We kept shit civil in front of our children, but the moment they left the room, I could tell he was looking for the nearest exit.

I let them get the hallway catch-up out of the way, with both kids rambling about the week we’d had, and West soaked it up and wordlessly grabbed the backpacks from me.

I stood on the doormat. I rarely walked farther. From here, I could spy the kitchen to the right, the den to the left, and the stairs in the center. The door to Ellie’s room on the second floor was visible, and it was filled with her drawings and her name.

“Can I get a hug before you disappear, kiddos?” I asked.

“Duh!” Ellie ran over and jumped into my arms, and I was quick to hug her.

 This part fucking sucked.

I closed my eyes briefly and breathed her in.

One week. I’ll see you in one week.

“…and then Grandma and Grandpa will be here tomorrow evening,” West was saying.

“Okay, but I can stay in my room and read, right?” Trip asked to make sure.

“Of course,” West chuckled. “I might join you.”

 Trip snickered.

I smooched Ellie’s cheek and reluctantly let her back down. “Love you, baby.”

“I love you the mostest!” she sang. “Bye, Daddy!”

“Bye, honey.” I forced a smile on my face and swallowed the emotions that threatened to resurface like clockwork every other Friday. Trip was next, and he came in for a hug too. I squeezed him and kissed the top of his head. “I love you, son. I’ll see you next Friday.”

“Love you too, Dad.” He smiled up at me. “Will you get my pillow from Nonna and Pop-Pop before, or should I bring the one I have here?”

“I’ll pick it up on Tuesday,” I said with a nod. “Nonna promised me lasagna then.”

He gasped. “Save me a piece?”

“Always.” I grinned and watched him fist-pump the air, but almost subtle-like, and then he grabbed his backpack and jogged up the stairs.

I bet he was going to give his pillow a big hug. The li’l lad was obsessed with memory foam.

“Dinner’s ready in five, kids!” West called up the stairs.

 “Okay!”

They shut the doors to their rooms, and our reasons for being in the same room once a week were gone. Time for me to leave.

“Have a good week,” I said, opening the door.

“Alfie—a moment, please.” West walked ahead of me, to my surprise, and stopped right outside. “I need to tell you something, and I don’t want you to hear it from them.”

I lifted a brow. It was best to keep eye contact to a minimum. West was always going to be the man in fitted pullovers and slacks, if he wasn’t wearing a suit, and my reaction to him was evidently always going to be the same too. My whole fucking body screamed for his. The comfort and sturdiness he’d represented. Always so solid, tall, warm, and caregiving.

Until he’d grown cold and said we were done.

He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his head. A few more streaks of silver had appeared lately.

“My parents are watching the kids tomorrow night,” he said. “Knowing my mother, she’ll probably say too much, and I… Truth be told, I’m not sure I even want to—” He stopped with a sigh. “I have a date. That’s all.”

 No.

 Please fucking don’t.

I clenched my jaw and averted my stare as I broke all over again. My chest suddenly felt tight, from one breath to the next, and I couldn’t fucking believe it. I mean, I could—I’d waited for this day, knowing it would come sooner or later. But my fucking God, it hurt. Holy shite, I needed to go. Stat.

“Got it.” I nodded once and started making my way back to my car.

Run. Escape. Hide. Cry. Fall apart where no one can see.

He was officially moving on. Maybe he already had. Who knew how many one-nighters he’d had the past two years—although, that wasn’t his MO. But whatever. He had a date. He was getting out there. One day, he’d introduce someone to our kids—

Fuck me, I was gonna be sick.

Nausea crawled up my throat, and I hurried to the car.

“Is that it?” West asked. “We once said we’d discuss things when we met someone.”

“Ain’t fuckin’ nothing to discuss,” I snapped over my shoulder.

I unlocked the car and got in behind the wheel, and I noticed my fingers were trembling. Rage and jealousy and despair, emotions all too familiar for me. And now the day was here. Fuck Fridays, bitch-ass motherfucking shite.

I saw West’s expression as I started the engine, arms wide, eyes flashing with disbelief, so I rolled down the windows and backed out.

“Are you honestly leaving?” he called. “You’re clearly upset!”

I backed out of the driveway and laughed humorlessly. “Nah, I’m thrilled! I hope you and Whatshisface ride off into the sunset together!” I legit flipped him off. I wasn’t sure I’d given anyone the finger since high school.

West could not look more incredulous. “Alfie, what the hell!”

“Yeah, go there and rot! Piece’a shit!” I gnashed my teeth, stepped on the gas, and rolled up the windows again.

Oh my God, I wanted to kill someone. Maybe the motherfucker West had asked out.

Had they fucked already? He’d been old-school with me. I’d suggested he rail me in the alley behind the bar I’d worked at, and he’d sort of blanched. Then he’d demanded he take me to dinner first.

Perhaps that was why this hurt so fucking much. West was all heart, and he didn’t go very far until he was ready to go the distance.

I sniffled and realized my vision was too blurry, so I angrily wiped at my cheeks and blinked back the tears. Well, too late to take anything back. Fuck, fuck, fuck! I punched the steering wheel and let the fury burst out of me.

As if on cue, my phone rang, and I picked it up and saw it was West.

Back to the mafia world where I first discovered Cara Dee. The Irish mafia in Philadelphia, the Sons of Munster. This book is VERY TAME in terms of violence compared to the others. Instead it is more of a man finding who he really is and making no apologies for it.

We get a quick first chapter flashback of Alfie and West meeting. Chapter 2 brings us back to the present. And a lot has happened in those years. The scenes or flashbacks to what has happened are pretty seamless in the story itself. It never felt clunky like, oops, I’d better explain that. It all just flows.

Now we have two men, divorced, co-parenting two kids while being barely civil to each other. And that is just for the sake of the kids. Whom I really liked and also fit really well into the story.

While West is a tv producer and comes from money, Alfie is a street kid from Philly. And even though he had a seemingly lucrative career as a model in the past, Alfie ingratiates himself into a position in “the syndicate” AKA, the mafia. Insisting he is stays more in the shadows for the sake of his children, but he feels so at home and welcome in this group that is family. Literally and figuratively.

All of this while still nursing a broken heart from his divorce. A divorce that wasn’t his idea at all. West had his reasons, and the reasons really are valid. But so are Alfie’s.

The pacing of the story was just spot on. Nothing was rushed, nothing was forgotten. My only nitpicking- and it is that, nitpicking- is the stereotypical Irish stuff-the drinking, listening to the Dropkick Murphys all the time- and the random “aye”, “shite” and “mate” spoken by Americans.

But still, I cannot wait for book 2.

I’m often awkwardly silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there’s so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex.

There’s a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly.

Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve.

I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.

I’m a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, cooking, baking, and geeking. There’s time for hockey and family, too. But mostly, I just love to write.

The Guy Next Door by Devon McCormack: Release Day Review

November 21, 2024 by Denise

ZANE

Is it wrong that I watch him?
Leif Anderson seems like a friendly, kind, normal, boy-next-door type.
Unlike me.
His stalker, a creep who moved into the place next to his parents’ house to keep an eye on him.
I’m not the bad guy, though.
I’m the one who will protect him.
The cops don’t believe he’s in danger.
Maybe they’re right, and this is all in my messed-up head.
I’ve been wrong before.
And no matter how I justify this to myself, my motives aren’t entirely pure.
It’s impossible to watch a guy this hot walking around in those adorable beanies without getting a little turned on.
When he discovers my secret surveillance, I’m sure it’s over.
No way he believes my reasons for watching him, but he doesn’t report me for my crime.
He’s curious about me in a way I don’t expect from a straight guy.
Or as I quickly learn, maybe not so straight.
Before I know it, we’re on a journey, exploring this wild, exciting part of Leif while I try to keep him safe from harm.
But the closer we get to one another, the more I wonder: what if it was all in my head?
What if no one’s coming for him?
What if the real threat to Leif is me, the guy next door?

*The Guy Next Door is a steamy romantic suspense but contains content that may trigger some readers. During the book’s preorder period, a complete content warning will be available on the author’s website. When the book is available for order, the warning will appear at the start of the book and can be viewed using the Look Inside feature.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

What drew me to this book was the mental health representation. And since both characters have mental health issues, I guess you can say it was represented. But I feel like a big opportunity was lost there.

Zane is the strange guy who moved in next door. Leif is taking time off of college after being hospitalized for mental health issues. Zane is definitely sketchy, even after his explanation. His whole reason for moving in next door just didn’t ring true.

I also didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between the 2 guys. Especially since Leif has always identified as straight. And the weirdness coming off of Zane.

That being said, I did like the basic premise of the story, I just wish it had played out differently. It wasn’t all that cohesive of a mystery.

Ultimately, did I think that Zane and Leif were cute together? Yes. Leif exploring his sexuality was fun. And the truest thing with the mental health rep (at least to me) was Leif’s parents checking in on him a little too much, which annoyed him.

Devon McCormack can write well, no doubt. The story just lacked a little for me.

The Story of Danny Rose (Hillcroft Group Book 1) by Cara Dee: New Release Review

November 20, 2024 by Denise

The Hillcroft Group, #1 Standalone Age gap Military DD/lb
“Try to read his file from the Army from another perspective. Less stone-faced, devoid of emotion, SAS operator and more as…oh, I don’t know, the loving, caring, nurturing Dom that you are.”

There was nothing like kicking off your vacation by realizing someone had broken in to your cabin. More than that, he was waiting when you arrived.

This young guy had plagued my dreams when I’d spent two months with his detachment a couple years ago. He was cocky, volatile, and resourceful. Resourceful enough to track me down, piss me off, and get himself invited for steaks and beer.

I was quickly going to learn there was a lot more to him than being a soldier with boundary issues, though. Starting the moment I accidentally spotted a small stuffed animal in his backpack.

He changed everything. The story of Danny Rose went from anecdotes I occasionally shared with recruits, to…becoming my whole bloody life.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

This book was mostly what I had hoped for. Back to a couple who get together but take the time to get to know each other. Not immediately off to a Game at McLean House or in a scene.

Danny and Emerson met briefly years ago. Danny never forgot Emerson though and after he left the military, tracked him down. Partly because he wanted to be a PMC and partly because he just wanted him.

We got a brief bit of their story previously in a short involving the Tenley twins. This expands on that story. And while it was expanded, and I did enjoy it, the near immediate “I’m a little” and “I’m a Daddy” great, let’s explore that together immediately, was a bit too fast for me. Again, more flirting. More fun. The PMC guys need a little fun and joy in their lives. Also, more background into the characters.

Having the Tenley twins in the background of the story was really fun. Seeing them as 20 year olds, taking orders, being voyeurs without apology and getting insight into how they became the growly Doms we know and love was interesting.

We are also introduced to several characters I am sure will be coming up in future Hillcroft Group books, as well as some excellently placed Easter eggs. I hope that future books in this series can focus more on the couple and less on the missions they are sure to be on, but that remains to be seen.

I’ll be Boned for Christmas (Collier’s Creek Christmas) by Katherine McIntyre: New Release Review

November 18, 2024 by Denise

Jordan
I’ve got a rep in town for causing trouble, and it’s well-earned. But when Nick and I get caught streaking after the tree lighting ceremony, we’re in for a messload of community service to get the town ready for the Collier’s Creek Christmas Bash. Except I’ve been craving to be taken more seriously, and Nick seems to be the only person in town who does.

Nick
After Jordan and I get in trouble, one joke leads to slipping between the sheets—or at least, the stalls—and suddenly we’re hooking up on the regular. It’s everything I’d told myself I didn’t want from my straight best friend, and I’m falling too hard and too fast. Yet my sister’s upcoming wedding is the reminder that I’m not just looking for a plus one there…but for keeps, and Jordan and I are just temporary. No matter how badly I want him to be mine.

Celebrate the holidays with the men of Collier’s Creek, where magic fills the air and irresistible romances are the highlight of the festive season. Six low-angst romances, each filled with heartwarming moments and swoon-worthy romance.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

I like punny titles usually. They can be clever or funny. Or both. But I feel like the title of this book does a disservice to the story.

A friends to lovers, bi awakening small town romance. That wasn’t cheesy or corny or eye rolling. It was…sweet really. Best friends since they were 8, but they really came off as more typical best friends like in real life. Not for nothin, but there aren’t a ton of guys out there into their 20’s with a bff they hang out with one on one. They tend to hang in groups. And these 2 are part of a group of 4 and it was acknowledged that it was a little weird to hang out just the 2 of them.

I really loved how Jordan approached his new found bi side. And how Nick was afraid that when Jordan was done exploring he would lose his best friend.

Jordan does a lot of growing up in a very short amount time without losing who he is. There’s nothing wrong with having fun!

So yes, I liked this a lot more than I expected! Not that I thought I wouldn’t like it, I just thought it would be a silly Christmas short where there’s a lot of sex and not mu substance. Glad I was wrong.

4 pieces of eye candy

I’ve been enjoying this author’s books quite a bit lately. They’ve been helping me out of the funk I’ve been in, and let’s face it, there is a lot of funk out there in the world. But the funny, sexy and quirky characters have helped me to get past some of them, if even for a time.

Jordan, the epitome of the shirt that says “That’s a bad idea. What time?” really enjoys getting his friends to do those things you wouldn’t otherwise. That is how he and Nick ended up doing community service in their little Wyoming town. But it gave him a chance to realize that maybe his relationships before didn’t work out because he didn’t understand himself or what he needed, someone who was there by his side.

Nick just needed to be loved, and had worked his way through most of the town. (Which by the way was one of my questions about the book. His ex was kind of just a non-issue after he appeared for a moment.) But in the meantime, he would have fun with his friends, especially Jordan. That was until he figured out the fun he could have with Jordan was teaching him all the ways they connected.

This was a fun little holiday story that was on the hotter side of hot, with some funny elements that had me laughing enough to wake up the husband.

Side note…how sweet was Nick to be helping do the wedding favors for his sister. That was enough to make anyone’s heart melt!

I was looking forward to this book, just simply based on the title. And let’s face it…you sang it, didn’t you?

On The Edge (Mount Hope Book 3) by Annabeth Albert: Release Day Review

October 21, 2024 by Denise

DANGER! RIDING TOO CLOSE TO THE EDGE!

My life is one big caution sign. Ever since my best friend’s all-grown-up son joined our shared home, I’ve been navigating a growing attraction to the injured motocross rider. Declan unleashes every protective and caretaking impulse I have, and I genuinely love spending time with the guy.

But Declan’s too young, too straight, and too temporary to risk a twenty-year friendship over. At least until he kisses me, and I tumble past forbidden attraction into a doomed secret fling.

What starts as exploration for Declan quickly transforms into an undeniable bond. He’s exactly what I’ve been searching for: a ride-or-die partner in crime who is happy making blanket forts, talking late into the night, and shares my love of cozy books and movies. What could be more perfect?

When Declan faces a crucial choice, both our hearts are on the line. Can we avoid falling over the edge into heartbreak?

ON THE EDGE is book three of the Mount Hope first responder series and features an emergency room nurse practitioner who is hopelessly soft for his best friend’s son. This dad’s best friend, hurt/comfort (heavy on the comfort), age gap romance contains small town feels, big emotional growth, and sizzling romance. While certain subplot threads continue throughout the series, each guaranteed happily ever after stands alone!

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

Book 3 in the series, can definitely be a stand alone. But why? I love this group of close knit friends who are in their 40’s, supporting each other and finding love (not with each other, teehee).

I really wondered who this one would play out. Because it’s one of the 40 something guys and the son of one of his friends. So we’re talking a 20 year age difference and these guys are all in each other’s pockets living on the same property. But it was so smooth.

That was my thought through the book. It was smooth. Declan and Jonas didn’t jump into anything. Well, after fighting it for a bit. Declan because he is a motocross rider and in the closet and Jonas because Declan is the son of one of his best friends.

An accident and then proximity bring them together. But really, Jonas reading to a first unconscious Declan had me swooning. And they continued it throughout the book. Even when things started heating up between them, they still had nights where they would cuddle and read. I mean, come on. How can you not love that?

Hearing about Jonas’ upbringing was an interesting part of the story. I love that it was PART of his story, but he didn’t make it his whole story. And although their situations were completely different, that shared lack of parenting brought them together more.

If you’ve read the other books, we get a lot of Eric’s kids. Wren and Rowan the most (fingers crossed for a Rowan story down the line!). They are entertaining without drawing all of the attention. Surprisingly, Declan’s father, Sean, wasn’t as big a part of the story as I was expecting. But I liked it because there was less tip toeing around.

The age difference also isn’t a big factor. It’s brought up, but not frequently. Some stories it’s all they talk about and it gets boring. Not so here. Oh. And Jonas being all hairy and NOT buff, perhaps even a big squishy. Loved it!

I’ve already thought about how book 4 will go as there were big changes happening with the friend group and their partners. And with Eric’s kids. **here’s my eyes popping out of my head at the epilogue**

R for Rough (Camassia Cove Universe #17) by Cara Dee: Release Day Review

September 27, 2024 by Denise

Standalone • MM • Primal Play • DD/lb • Age gap • Interrogation Play • Coworkers • Camassia Cove Universe
Apply the right amount of war paint and rehearse your safewords for Griffin and Tracy’s romance. They may start out as two chefs working awkwardly together, but they share a desire that soon brings them together, forcing them to address the tension between them.

I didn’t know why Griffin hated me so much, but it was wearing me down. I walked on eggshells around him at work, and I hated that I still wanted him. I saw him in my dreams, my fantasies, and…frankly, in some nightmares too. And then I freaking saw him at a munch, and I almost lost it. Just how much did we have in common?! Was there no way for us to coexist? My friend Abel firmly believed Griffin and I belonged together, but I didn’t know what that guy was smoking.

Something had to give, though—and that made me think of what my grandpa used to tell me as a kid. I’d been too young to wield an axe, so he’d chopped wood while I had walked along the tree line to collect kindling. Then when I came across a branch I couldn’t break, he’d say, “It’s just a matter of finding the right pressure point. You can do it, Tracy.”

Maybe that could be applied to Griffin too.

It was just a matter of finding the right pressure point.

This story takes place in Cara Dee’s Camassia Cove Universe, a fictional town where all books stand on their own, unless otherwise stated, and the reader can jump in wherever they want.

Amazon – All Regions

I’ve read A LOT of Cara Dee books. Probably 90%. A lot of them have kink. But what really drew me in were the relationships. The connections, the falling in love, getting to know you stories. And lately, that is really missing from the kink books.

This can be read as a stand alone, even though it’s in the Cammisa Cove world and we even get a few guest stars from McLean House. And being that it was kind of a stand alone, I was really expecting and hoping for a relationship that beings, grows, flourishes…. but instead we got some cursory back story, very little one on one time and then another kinky game.

And I am not going to yuck someone’s yum, but this kinky game was 100% not for me. Rough play? sure. Primal play? ok. But basically beating the crap out of each other and calling it kink? Not my jam. I was actually a bit disturbed at points.

I really wanted to get to KNOW Tracey and Griffin. But I didn’t.

Rebound Control by Jodi OliverMy review! Enthusiastic 5 pieces of eye candy!!!This is a very rare 5 POEC for me. I could probably pick it apart to bring it to 4.5 but I'm not going to. I have also never identified with a male pro hockey player in my life until I started reading this book. This is book 5, but I haven't read the previous 4. This stands alone really well.Elliott is the goalie for a pro hockey team in Chicago. His twin brother is also on the team. And as is with a lot of twins, they are almost opposites. And now that his twin is married, Elliott is feeling more than a little left out. What is obvious to the reader (or at least to me) is that he has a pretty heavy case of ADHD. Which also makes him feel his feelings VERY strongly. Elliott doesn't know this and just thinks he is different and weird. All of the fun things kids in school used to call him. When he meets Hunter- oh those feelings. And then he runs into Hunter (sort of). More feelings. Then he goes to see him- FEELINGS.The person who doesn't want feelings is Hunter. TOO BAD. Feel them! lolHunter, the full time firefighter and former Navy SEAL who lives with his uncle after his husband died in a house fire. He does not want love to then lost it again. We all know how that goes.Hunter and Elliott are sooooooo perfect together. For a guy who didn't want love again, he is the most loving and attentive guy to Elliott. Like swoony without being cheesy. And really, the way Hunter treats Elliott is something we should all aspire to have.Although it is briefly addressed but not formerly diagnosed in the book, Elliott is probably also a bit autistic. He has sensory issues and a bit of a childlike joy that you just don't often see in grown men. Especially big pro hockey players. The love these two men had for each other was so pure and perfect. Swoon ... See MoreSee Less

✨ TEASER: PLAYING FOR THE PRESIDENT’S DAUGHTER by @authorkimberlyknight & @rachellynadams releasing February 2nd! Pre-Order now at your favorite book vendor as it will be exclusive to Amazon on release day! #PreOrderNowbooks2read.com/u/3nLogBWhy you will love this book…🔥MMF🔥Baseball Romance🔥Friends to Lovers🔥Double Biawakening🔥Polyamory🔥StepbrotherThe president’s daughter shouldn’t be sharing a bed with two men. She definitely shouldn’t still be thinking about them after one night together.Faye Donnelley lives with every move photographed or judged. She can handle gossip blogs and political narratives, but what she really wants is something that isn’t for public consumption. One Fourth of July with two college baseball players finally gives her a night that isn’t for cameras or anyone outside that room.Dylan Statler and Jase Matthewson are best friends, stepbrothers, and college teammates with dreams of making it to the big leagues. Hooking up with the president’s daughter was supposed to be a one-time thing. Except they can’t stop checking Faye’s socials or replaying how it felt with her pressed between them, their hands and mouths all over her. After Dylan and Jase are drafted by different teams hundreds of miles apart, their private group text with Faye turns into stolen weekends, hotel rooms, and late-night video calls they can’t resist. It starts to feel like they aren’t just playing for their careers, but for the president’s daughter, and for something between the guys they can’t ignore. If their relationship gets exposed, Faye could become a political talking point while sports media outlets dissect Dylan and Jase’s personal lives instead of their stats. That fallout would be bad enough, but when a terrifying moment shakes their world, it forces them to decide if they’re willing to risk it all or walk away from a relationship that only works when all three are together.✨INFLUENCERS: Sign up to review this awesome release: bit.ly/pftpdsignup#kimberlyknight #rachellynadams #mmfromance The Author Agency ... Ruthless: Park Avenue Kings Book 5 by Ella Frank and Brooke BlaineMy review:Book 4 left me wanting. It focused so much on Theo and Shep and their relationship that the plot got lost. And there was plot there to be had. And then...CLIFFHANGER! So this book picks up right where book 4 left off. In the jungles of Brazil. Theo has been kidnapped, King and Shep are trying to find him. I'll leave all of that there.Back in New York, the plot (and the kidnapping plot) start to come into focus. The who and the why. But also the anger at not only King, but the others in the group for doubting Theo and for not being more careful.Again, I think things were wrapped up a little too easily and quickly and then the focus was back on the relationship. But at least no cliffhangers. There's one book left in the series and I will definitely read it because I hate leaving things undone. But I am definitely seeing the formula that these authors use in the series that they write.4 Pieces of Eye Candy ... See MoreSee Less
