Two Chicks Obsessed with Books & Eye Candy

Sharing our love of M/M Romance

gay

Inhale by DP Denman: New Release Review

August 10, 2023 by Denise

What can you do when love takes you by surprise? Just breathe.

Cole Rinne is a model with an impossible problem. An invasion of his privacy ends up in the hands of a blackmailer, and the details could go public any day. His only hope is to ditch the spotlight and hide in the shadows. Then he meets someone with a solution.

Gage Marx is a PI who specializes in impossible problems. He’s used to solving the unsolvable. The only thing he’s ever declared a lost cause is himself.

From the start, Cole’s case holds more surprises than Gage expects. The most shocking is that for the first time in over two years, Gage’s broken heart is showing signs of life.

Their plan to wade slowly into love comes apart when an unexpected opportunity threatens to turn it all into a long-distance relationship. Will occasional reunions be enough to keep them together, or will their separate careers tear them apart?

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

Well, I didn’t not like it. It was just a bit disjointed with several things going on at once and none of them getting the attention- or resolution- they deserved.

Cole is a model and social media influencer being blackmailed over video of him and another guy having sex. Cole freaks out. Which, ya, totally freak out worthy. BUT, he is a low level model and SM influencer. He still earns extra cash working under the table for his sister. He never hid the fact that he was gay. The other person was a willing of age participant. So all of his angst about it ruining his career just sounded hollow to me.

Gage is a workaholic private investigator hired by Cole’s sister when he goes off grid. Gage finds him and decides to help him try to find out who the blackmailer is. Gage has been nursing a broken heart for 2 years, so burying himself in work is his favorite avoidance ploy. Gage admits his broken heart to Cole when the flirting is turned up. Cole doesn’t listen and they decide to take it slowly.

Then Cole gets sent to NYC to work. And he stops talking to his sister because she clearly doesn’t know what boundaries are. Gage is now nursing a double broken heart because Cole is 3000 miles away.

Gage also gains some local infamy after he finds a stolen dog and gets a feel good story on the news. Which floods his business with potential clients. Enter the perfect assistant for him. Honestly, I think this was thrown in so that he could visit Cole in NYC without completely leaving his business unattended.

Anyway. We do get a HEA. But there’s just so much that wasn’t resolved or was resolved as an afterthought. It’s mentioned more than once that the black mailer is probably a different person from who set up the cameras. Well they were all happy that they found who did the recordings and never mentioned the black mailer again.

Cole had a big fight with his sister and it’s mentioned that they will have a family get together to work things out, but we don’t see it.

The other person in the sex video is barely mentioned.

There’s a few other things, but way too spoilery.

It was very surface told story which way too much introspection and not enough well thought out plot and resolution.

.                                .

Sometimes love is a three-piece puzzle.

ASHTON
If money makes the world go round, then the real estate market in New York is the engine that keeps it spinning. As one of Manhattan’s elite realty agents, it’s my job to wine, dine and do whatever it takes to close the deal. Yes sir, I act the part and look the part. Designer suit… immaculate. Hair… precision. Body… perfection. Well, maybe not quite, but I’m not about to let anyone know the flaw in this outwardly flawless power single.

So when my secret chink-in-the-armor begins to show, I’ll do whatever I need to protect myself, especially when it comes to putting Jax Lockhart — the newest, slickest, sexiest agent at Vanquest Realty — in his place.

With the help of my assistant Bailey, I’ll do what it takes to bring Jax down. The last thing I was ever expecting was to fall for the enemy… and my assistant Bailey too!

BAILEY
Without any possible rhyme or reason, I’ve been in love with my boss Ashton since the day I started working for him. I have no idea what this irresistible attraction is, especially when he’s the total opposite of me? He’s filthy rich and handsome beyond words, possessing the kind of confidence, ambition and uber-success that I could never match… or even want to match. That’s okay, I have no problems pining over him from afar while I live my quiet little life, looking after my Grammy and scraping together enough to pay the bills.

But then one day Jax Lockhart walks into the offices of Vanquest Realty… the very same Jax Lockhart I’d fallen head over heels in love with at the orphanage where we’d both grown up.

Now what was I to do? Continue dreaming about the boss I could never have? Or rekindle the flame that two kids shared a lifetime ago?

I’m tempted to keep both of my secret crushes a secret… until I find out that both Ashton and Jax each have secrets of their own.

HEARTLESS is an enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, hurt/comfort standalone 50k MMM romance, with steam, swoon and a love that will never die.

I turned to see Victor walking toward me. By his side was a guy so hot my knees almost buckled… although he wasn’t the kind of hot I was used to seeing in the Vanquest offices, or anywhere else in the realty business.

He had a rough diamond vibe happening.

His suit was slightly off kilter.

His skin was clearly in need of a good moisturizer, the kind they keep behind lock and key at the day spa.

And his hair and beard were in desperate need of Francois, my barber.

“Ashton, I said ‘are you alright?’” Victor repeated. “I got a call from the hospital. What happened to you?”

“Nothing. I just fell over.” I held up my right hand as exhibit A.

“Fell over. That’s not what they told me. They said you were hit by a bus.”

“Almost hit by a bus. Victor I’m fine.”

“Good, so long as you’re alive, that’s all that matters. Now, there’s someone I’d like you to meet.”

Beside me I sensed Bailey giving off a seriously weird vibe as he kept his eyes down and started drawing figure eights on the tiled floor with the toe of his shoe.

The hot guy held out his hand for me to shake. I offered him my right hand instinctively, then promptly changed it, pulling my bandaged hand back and offering him my left hand instead.

The hot guy graciously shook it, switching to use his left hand as well, happily accommodating my needs.

Victor introduced us. “Ashton, I’d like you to meet Jax. Jax Lockhart. He’s my newest shining star who’s ready to knock it out of the ballpark.”

“Really?” I said. “That’s exciting news. Where are you from, Jax?”

The rough-around-the-edges stud smiled, and I had to steel my knees yet again. There was something about him that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, a certain je ne sais quoi you might even say, although nothing like mine.

“I’m from the west coast. I’ve sold property everywhere from Malibu to Palm Springs, but I’m excited to take a bite out of the Big Apple now.”

Ouch, did he really say that?

How could someone look like a suited-up Son of Anarchy yet use a pun that painful?

It made him brim with a sense of something that irked me.

What was it?

Innocence, perhaps.

No, naivety.

No… it was authenticity.

He oozed authenticity.

It sent a shiver down my spine.

There was just something about authentic people that I didn’t quite trust.

This guy had an agenda, I could smell it a mile away.

Better Latte Than Never by CC Bridges: Blog Tour, Exclusive Excerpt, New Release Review and Giveaway

July 25, 2023 by Denise

.                            .

Finn’s love stories always end in death.

He’s made millions writing as author Morgan Heart and his fans can’t get enough of his tragic love stories. But a bad breakup results in a killer case of writer’s block, and Finn needs to try something drastic to fix it, like. . .going to a coffee shop to write. There’s got to be a reason it’s a cliche, and in his world, cliches sell.

He shouldn’t be flirting with the hot, younger barista. He shouldn’t be using said beautiful barista as another character to kill off in his new book. And he sure as hell shouldn’t be getting his heart involved, especially since he’s still keeping his real identity secret.

Working at his aunt’s coffee shop is a temporary thing. . . that’s been going on for eight years now. One day soon Enzo is finally going to make it big with his art and move on. But when Finn walks into the cafe – confident, mature, put together, everything Enzo is not – he can’t help developing a huge crush, even if Finn is a customer.

As their relationship deepens, Finn’s deceptions and Enzo’s insecurities threaten to undermine everything they are starting to build together. If they can each confront their inner demons, then Finn might be writing a happy ending for the first time in his life.

Better Latte Than Never is an m/m age gap, coffee shop romance featuring a slow burn attraction that grows steamier than an espresso machine.

Warnings: Mention of partner betrayal, death of character’s parents in the past

“What brings you to our cafe?” He winced at how terrible that sounded. Apparently Enzo completely forgot how to flirt when it was a customer he thought was hot. He could charm the old ladies like nobody’s business, but a cute guy? Nope.

Finn nodded at his laptop. “Came for the Wi-Fi and stayed for the coffee. And then the surprise party.” He picked up his fork and stabbed the last piece of cake left on his plate. “This cake is amazing.”

“Everything my aunt bakes is amazing.” Enzo watched the bit of chocolate make its way to Finn’s mouth and the sensual way his lips closed around the metal of the fork. That shouldn’t be turning Enzo on right now, but God, if he didn’t want to follow that piece of cake with his own tongue against Finn’s lips.

“So what do you make that’s amazing?” Finn asked with a wink, and that was when Enzo knew they were in business, or at least on the same wavelength.

He could feel the blush creeping up his cheeks. “I don’t bake, but I do brew a mean cup of espresso.”

“I’d love to have a taste.”

“You’ve got—” Enzo gestured to his own face. A smear of chocolate had found its way to Finn’s chin. “Here.” He picked up a napkin from the table and brushed it away.

Finn took the napkin, his fingers tangling with Enzo’s for a moment. His eyes were smoldering. “Thank you.”

Enzo cleared his throat and pulled at the collar of his shirt. Who’d turned up the heat in here? “What are you working on?”

“My book. It’s not behaving.” Finn glared at his laptop. “I’m hoping coming here will help spark…something.”

Enzo opened his mouth to tell Finn exactly what he hoped it would spark when he felt a tug on his sleeve. He looked over to find Scottie had left his mother’s side. The kid seemed to like Enzo. Any time he and his mother visited while Enzo was working, Scottie would trail him around the cafe.

“Enzo, I saw you had your sketchbooks,” he whispered. “Are you going to draw me again?”

Before he could reply, Tami had made it to their side of the room. “Scottie, leave him alone. That was a special occasion!”

Enzo had done caricatures one day as a promo for the cafe. Scottie had loved the little drawing Enzo had done of him as an astronaut. “It’s not a problem. Let me get this gentleman some more coffee first. Are you drinking regular, or would you like to try my espresso?”

“I’d love to try your espresso.” Finn smiled, and for a moment it felt like they were the only two people in the entire cafe.

But Enzo had to get back to work, shattering the illusion. He went behind the counter, quickly chatted with his aunt so she could leave for the day while brewing Finn’s espresso. Then he grabbed his sketchbook and tucked it under his arm before bringing out the coffee.

“Here you go.”

“Thank you. About that drawing you’re going to do?” Finn accepted the cup of coffee but didn’t drink it.

Enzo gestured with his sketchbook. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m going to make a cartoon for Scottie over there.”

“Mind if I watch? Unless you’re the kind of artist who can’t work while someone is looking at them?”

“You’re procrastinating, aren’t you?” Enzo teased. “Let me guess. Deadline?”

“You have no idea.”

Enzo shook his head. “You can watch if you want. I’m used to it.”

This is a new to me author, but the premise sounded cute so why not? Featuring an age gap, as well as a success gap, and both of those things can easily be death to a relationship. Together with secrets, it can be a recipe for disaster.

One MC is successful in his chosen field, but hiding it from the other. Meanwhile, Enzo, the picture of a struggling artist, has his own insecurities to deal with, and they begin to hurt their relationship as well.

There’s definitely some life lessons for these characters, as they work to grow as people and in their relationship.

I did struggle a bit with this book, as I found the interactions stiff between the two MC’s, and for me, I wasn’t sure if it was intended to be that way, or the writing was a bit too stiff for me. I started and stopped this book a couple of times before finally getting into it later in the book. In the end, they struggled to get to find the right place to land in their relationship, but just like I needed, an HEA.

“Toby! This is for you.” Gray stuck a piece of bread and changed songs.

Oh fuck yeah, it took me about half a second to recognize Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” and dive right back into my childhood. One of the reasons I’d loved growing up in the San Diego area, watching the Navy ships on the weekends with my old man.

Toby was a good boy. He was former Navy too. He and Crew were high on life and didn’t hesitate to put on a poolside show for us, dancing and singing along.

 Blake laughed and cheered.

“Nobody tell anyone I’m getting down to Navy music,” Crew threatened. “Damn squids.”

“Whoa!” I stood up with my mouth full of olives, pepper salami, and bread.

“I got this, boss. You go back to eating,” Toby reassured me. Hey, not everyone wanted eight-packs. Some wanted food. He turned to Crew and clasped his shoulder. “Looks like I gotta teach you a Top Gun lesson, my jarhead friend.”

 This oughta be good—

I felt my body seize up a fraction of a second before my brain screamed desert. The smell of tea, herbs, and diesel invaded my senses. Take cover, take cover! I was back in Fallujah. Dogs barked, mopeds beeped, men screamed, the morning call to prayer had been interrupted by the sounds of rocket launchers.

I sucked in a breath and met Crew’s wild stare from almost fifty feet away, and I could tell he’d reacted too. Then we snapped our gazes to the sky, and I didn’t even think. The sound was so fucking distinct that I switched over to muscle memory. I wasn’t sure I saw anything, but I knew.

“Everyone away from the house!” I yelled. “Take cover! Away from the house!”

 “Fucking run!” Crew shouted.

We all know and love Cara Dee for her kinky, sexy stories. But a lot of the guys are military or ex military or PMC. This book- the first of 4- brings a lot of those guys together for a covert op after one of them was targeted while many were there and 2 spouses and one kid were kidnapped. The kid is the niece of Elliott, the guy who was targeted and the daughter of Joel, Elliott’s former lover AND former brother in law. Sticky wicket there. Shay Tenley, partner to River and Reese was also taken and seriously those guys are scary.

The guys call in a few reinforcements and do what they do best. Organize, strategize and work to get their family members back.

The often confusing world of drug cartels is their main objective. But we have cartels in Mexico, in Europe, in California, the leader of one supposedly in prison in Texas. This one rats on that one, there are a million layers of men to get through, and leads that take them across the globe.

The character focus of this book is Elliott and Joel. They love/hate each other and we get their back story in snippets as they travel through Mexico together hunting down leads and the head of a cocaine cartel.

FYI- the only sex in this book is in flashbacks. This book really focuses on the op and trying to figure out who tried to kill Elliott.

There’s no cliff hanger, but being that this is book 1 of 4 there are also no answers. Luckily for all of us the books all come out just a few weeks apart from each other. So I am eagerly awaiting book 2.

I’m often awkwardly silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there’s so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex.

There’s a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly.

Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve.

I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.

I’m a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, cooking, baking, and geeking. There’s time for hockey and family, too. But mostly, I just love to write.

Like I Pretended (Heather Bay book 4) by Charlie Novak: Release Day Review

July 23, 2023 by Denise

Pretending to be in love never felt so real.

Henry Lu hates being a superstar. Action movies have left a sour taste in his mouth and filming a queer period drama on the Yorkshire coast sounds like the perfect antidote. Meeting grumpy coffee shop owner, Alex, is the cherry on top.

Alex isn’t impressed with the appearance of Hollywood royalty in his life, especially because Henry refuses to accept that Alex doesn’t like him. But when rumours about the production draw the attention of stuffy streaming service bigwigs and the ire of Henry’s superhero franchise, Henry and Alex must put on a show and fake a relationship to smooth things over.

Alex doesn’t want a relationship, and Henry isn’t good at them, but their arrangement is only supposed to be for a few months, then they’ll both be free to go back to their lives. The only problem is that pretending to be in love never felt so real.

Like I Pretended is a slow burn contemporary MM romance featuring a sunshine Hollywood superstar whose never been told no, a grumpy coffee shop owner who wants to be left alone, bad attempts at flirting, terrible catering, and finding home.

It is book four in the Heather Bay series and while it can be read as a standalone, it’s best enjoyed as part of the series.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

If you’re a fan of Charlie Novak, you know Henry Lu. Action superstar, brother to Jason Lu, he’s been on the fringes for a while. And he finally gets his story.

If you’ve read the other Heather Bay books you know that they were anticipating a show being filmed there. Turns out they are, it’s a gay regency romance and Henry is one of the stars. And you know Alex, best friend to Noah who just moved out to live with his boyfriend- Alex’s brother. And even with all of that you can read these as stand alones. But why would you?

Alex is one of the only people to ever call Henry out on his BS. And Henry likes it. But no amount of charm can sway Alex. Until the studio asks him to be Henry’s fake boyfriend.

Because of the fake boyfriend status, and Alex’s past, this story is a slow smoldering burn. Henry quickly befriends Alex’s core group of friends as he also tries to both be respectful of Alex and to woo him.

Alex’s friends are the same snarky, loving group of guys who really just want to see him happy. And even if Alex doesn’t want to admit it, Henry is the guy.

You can’t help but love Henry. He’s like a puppy. And Alex is the housecat who doesn’t like anyone. How can anyone not love a puppy eventually?

Very satisfying story where no big concessions were made, the angst was low and a happily ever after was had. And the epilogue shows that Alex is still a bit prickly, but in the best way.

It was approaching midnight by the time he padded over Lloyd’s lawn. He cursed under his breath when he remembered he’d left his phone in MacDonald’s car.

Remembering that Lloyd had mentioned the view from his desk overlooking the street, Wesley hunted for bits of gravel and tossed them against Lloyd’s upstairs window.

It clinked and clattered, and he grinned.

He’d always wanted to do this.

Someone cleared their throat, and Wesley jerked toward Lloyd, shuffling across the grass in slippers and a robe.

Lloyd pointed to the window next to the one Wesley had been pelting. “That’s my room. Mom kindly asks that you move a few feet to your right, or better yet, come inside.”

Wesley cupped his mouth and called out, “Sorry, Cathy!”

“See you in the morning, Wesley!” came a wall-filtered reply.

Wesley headed for the front door.

“How does she know I’m staying over?”

“It’s midnight. You’re play-acting Romeo on my front lawn. She’s a smart woman.”

Lloyd shut the door behind them, and after removing his shoes and jacket, Wesley followed him upstairs.

“Love the look, by the way,” Wesley whispered, tugging Lloyd’s robe belt. “It’s like a flash-forward into the future. You’re the grumpy old codger who loves telling off kids for making too much noise—oh wait.”

Wesley eyed Lloyd up and down by the dim light of the hall. “Maybe it isn’t a flash-forward.”

“You’re right. I won’t be like this in sixty years.”

“What will you be like?” “Grumpier.” Lloyd flicked a light on and gestured Wesley inside his surprisingly cluttered childhood room. Shelves lined an entire wall stuffed with books, board games, and more than one Rubik’s cube. Then there was the bed.

“A twin, Lloyd? We’ll sure be cozy tonight.” Without looking away from him, Lloyd pulled out a rollaway mattress from under the bed using his foot.

“Top or bottom?”

“I’m happy with either,” he said with a leer, “but I’d prefer to bottom.”

Lloyd shut his eyes. “Boy, oh boy.”

Wesley smirked and peeled off his clothes until he was down to his boxers and undershirt.

Avoiding eye contact, Lloyd grabbed him a blanket, then unrobed to a similar state of undress and flicked off the light. “I assume you didn’t come here to sleep.”

“Not quite the proposition I imagined from you, Lloyd.”

A pillow smacked Wesley in the face. He laughed as he settled onto the rollaway and stuffed Lloyd’s pillow under his head.

Glow-in-the-dark stars covered the ceiling, possibly arranged in constellations. “Guess I’m not the only one obsessed with stars.”

Lloyd rolled onto his side and peered down at Wesley. “Why are you here at midnight?”

“Hoping you might sleep-divulge your date of birth?”

“Wesley.”“I told my mom I’m quitting college once I get my undergrad.”

“Because of our conversation?”

“It didn’t come out of thin air.”

“How did you feel when you said it?”

“Guilty, then relieved. Now nervous.” Wesley bit his lip. “As my RA, do you think I’m doing the right thing?”

At the mention of RA, Lloyd folded back an inch. “Let’s arrange a date and work through some options for you.”

“I’m not good at making decisions. I’m inconsistent and terribly indecisive.”

“I’ve noticed.”

“I’m pretty screwbally.”

“Yet I like you all the same.”

You will love Puck Around and Find Out if you love…🏒hockey🩷bi-awakening🏒forced proximity (Roommates)🩷enemies to lovers🏒teammates🩷college🏒MM romanceI took his twin brother’s place on the team and he’s had it out for me ever since.I’m the newest player on the Gods hockey team, but I don’t belong here. I’m from an entirely different world than the rest of them. But my mother’s death left me with nothing. No ties to family, no place to live. It’s this or the street. So I have no choice. To make this work, I have to play with the guy whose brother I replaced. Coach wants us on the same line, but Ridgeway wants me off the team, and if all of that wasn’t bad enough, he’s my roommate.Ridgeway is dark and angry, holding pain under the surface that I recognize. He hates me and gets under my skin in a way no one else has before, which only makes me want to push his buttons more. We’re at each other’s throats by the end of the first week. But I’m determined to figure out a way to work with him.Maybe I’ll have to seduce him, because I don’t think he’s as straight as he claims.#jrgray #hockeyromance #mmromance The Author Agency ...

✨TEASER: CALAN by @larktaylorauthor releasing December 4th!You will love Calan if you love…🐺Enemies to Lovers🐺Fated Mates 🐺Demon x Wolf Shifter🐺Bi-Awakening🐺Touch Him & Die🐺Found Family 🐺Yearning🐺Primal Kink🐺Hurt/ComfortFate had chosen my mate for me.And they’d chosen wrong.Wolf shifters get to choose their mates. It’s how it’s always been.Unless you’re the fated mate of an angel or demon. When Darius escapes Hell, he comes right to me. To tell me that we’re destined to be together. That I’m the other half of his soul.I tell him to go right back to Hell.Fate might think we’re mates, but they’ve conveniently forgotten two important facts: I’m straight and I can’t stand demons. My prejudice isn’t Darius’s fault. It was created decades ago by another demon, one who still haunts my nightmares to this day.Despite my behaviour towards Darius, he keeps showing up over and over again. He takes everything I throw at him and throws it right back. Fighting with him makes me feel…alive.By the time I realise that maybe fate was right all along, it’s too late. I’ve spent years repeatedly hurting Darius in ways I’m ashamed of.Will Darius ever give us a chance after what I’ve put him through? Or are we destined to be in this limbo forever? One thing’s for certain – I’m not going to waste any more time in finding out.Calan is a heart-wrenching enemies to lovers, MM shifter x demon romance. The third in The Wild Edges series, these books are best enjoyed in order. Each story follows a new couple, and always ends in a HEA.#larktaylor #mmromance #fatedmates The Author Agency ...

✨TEASER: THE CRIMSON HOWLERS by @coraroseauthor releasing November 20th! You will love The Crimson Howlers if you love…🔥MMM🔥Free Use🔥Pack Bonding🔥Found Family🔥Bonding Contract🔥Magic Slick🔥Exhibitionism and VoyeurismI want something an alpha isn’t supposed to want. To be taken. To surrender control and give myself over completely. The Crimson Howlers give me what I crave, until I offend the pack leader. Now I must pay penance for it.Bound by magic to their pack for a year, I spend my nights with their leader and a rotation of alphas. They’ve been alone too long, and they need someone to soothe their instincts and satisfy their needs. But I can’t get attached.I won’t risk losing someone I care about again. And if anyone gets too close…I run.As the pack’s need grows, so does my pull toward two of them:Zed, the pack leader, and Jex, his second.Maybe this is all a cruel fantasy, and I’m destined to end up alone when my year is up.But I want it all, and to have it, I’ll have to risk everything to bond with them and the rest of the pack. The Crimson Howlers does end in an HEA, but the relationship dynamics are not traditional. While there is a specific throuple bonded, their relationship remains open to the pack. #mmmromance #corarose The Author Agency ...

Under Water by EM LindseyMy review:If you read book one, you had to be curious about Rune and Easton. Easton who everyone loves, the "token straight", the guy who shouldn't go anywhere near a computer. And Rune, former firefighter, now IT for the first responders and fixer of everything Easton breaks. But then Easton saves Rune's son. And Rune has to admit, at least to himself, that Easton isn't a bad guy. And Easton has to admit that he isn't quite as straight as he thought. My heart hurt for Rune. Even without getting a ton of background of him with his soon to be ex, it's so obvious how much the ex did to Rune's self worth and mental health. Hearing that no one else would want him stuck. Even though that wasn't true. Rune was also a single parent to his disabled and medically fragile son, Elio. (And a really well done job to show how much Elio's mother loved him but just wasn't cut out to be a full time mom without villianizing her.)Elio was a great bridge to bring Easton and Rune together- and he didn't even realize it at first.Through more than 1 crisis, Easton shows that he knows that Rune and Elio are a package deal. He doesn't even think about it. It just IS. And what better endorsement can he get that Elio's approval?I really enjoyed this book. I love having not only disability represented (as EM Lindsey seems to always do so well) but the family of disabled people. Because it affects everyone in different ways. And having the toke straight turn out to be an amazing boyfriend to another man was just perfect.4 pieces of eye candy ...

✨TEASER: BLUEBIRD DAY by @ryecoxauthor releasing November 16th!What you will find inside…🩵Fake Boyfriend❄️Holiday Romance🩵Slow Burn❄️Stranded Together on a ski lift🩵Sworn Off Love❄️Chinese MC🩵MM RomanceThere's always something to look forward to after a shitstorm.David LiuI thought nothing could be worse than being cheated on, then my ex proves me wrong by parading around his affair partner at our cousins' wedding. It's a week and a half long event at a ski lounge, and I'm stuck watching their sickening PDA. Not only that, my ex is set on rubbing his new relationship in my face at every chance he can get.As if things aren't complicated enough, my ex's other cousin offers himself as a buffer.Jensen lives abroad and is the free spirit of his family. I'm warned against him. He's known as a bit of a Casanova, and I allegedly fall in love with any man who can make me laugh (which I do not! I vow never to love again). But Jensen's more than just the funny guy who's helping me keep my ex off my back. The more time we spend together, the more I want to dive straight into complicated and forget all about my vow of singlehood.Even if it's all fake, I know he's mine to keep.Bluebird Day is a standalone fake dating MM holiday romance featuring endless banter, one nosy family, an MC who swore off love (who's he kidding?), stranded on a ski lift ;), and a slow burn that ends in the sweetest happily ever after.#ryecox #mmromance #holidayromance The Author Agency ...
