Something sparkly caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I looked toward the entrance and saw a woman had entered, wearing a dress that glittered like she wore the night sky and all its stars. Even from a distance, she was a stunning vision, with long, black hair that framed her face, giving her an angelic appearance.

The host led her through the restaurant to her table. She was a glorious goddess of a woman, full of beauty and grace. At one point, I gladly would have dated someone like her.

As she drew closer, I got a better look at her. She had beautifully full lips that were emphasized by her red lipstick. They were curved in a teasing smile as she made eye contact with me and gave me a flirty wink as she stopped by my table.

The world stopped spinning as I gazed deep into her brown eyes and saw my boyfriend. Somehow, the gorgeous woman that had turned the head of every straight man and quite a few women was Tiago. I couldn’t find words as I stared up in shock at “Tia,” who was more beautiful than I had ever imagined possible. It seemed I owed him an apology because he certainly didn’t come off as a goofy guy in a dress as I had expected.

Tiago took great delight in my stunned reaction. He bent down to give me a tender kiss. “Sorry I’m late, cookie,” he said in a surprisingly feminine voice before sitting across from me. As he set aside a midnight-blue holographic clutch, it made me realize he had on nails painted to match. It made his fingers look longer and more elegant than normal.

I needed to find my words, but I was too blown away by the beautiful woman in front of me being my boyfriend. I whispered, “Tia,” in awe as I stared.

He tucked a strand of long, black hair behind his ear before he picked up the menu to study it. “You should try their fiery angel hair pasta if you haven’t already,” he said in the same feminine voice that stirred my lust. How was he acting so cool about doing something so incredible?

“You’re beautiful.” I couldn’t get over how flawless he was as a woman. Clearly, I hadn’t given him enough credit. It had seemed so absurd when we had been joking about it while reading the fan fiction about him showing up to one of our dates in drag. But now that he was sitting in front of me as Tia, I couldn’t believe how incredible he looked. His shimmering eye makeup was particularly impressive.

He covered his mouth as he gave an excellent imitation of a girlish giggle. “How kind of you to notice.”

“I don’t understand. How is this possible?” I literally couldn’t process it. In what universe did Tiago turn into a hot supermodel when wearing a dress?

“See? I told you Tia would rock your world.” He looked up at me with a playful expression. “So, does your girlfriend meet with your approval?”

My eyes traveled from his face, which had all its masculine edges softened by makeup, down to the swell of breasts that helped sell the femininity of his look. “I’m the luckiest man in the entire universe.”

“Yeah, you are.” His light laughter further emphasized the flawlessness of his feminine appearance. “And just wait until you see the fun surprise I have waiting for you once we get home.”

My cock stirred in my pants with interest at the thought of taking Tia home and getting intimately acquainted. “What kind of surprise?”

“One you won’t soon forget.” He tossed his hair over his shoulder as he flashed a flirty smile. It drove my lust wild and made me eager for the rest of our night.

My heart thudded hard as I stared up at Iason in disbelief. Was he talking about me? I would never forget him singing along to that song in my car on the way back to my place after dinner that first night, but Iason couldn’t possibly mean me, right? He played a single off his last album, pulling me from my thoughts as I got caught up in listening to him. I was still on the brink of embarrassing myself from my body’s intense reaction to him. While I had always had sensitive hearing and had been to concerts before, no one’s voice had ever affected me on such a sexually stimulating level before.

Now, his voice intimately penetrated me, with every rise and fall of his vocalization a satisfying thrust. The desire pent-up inside me became more unbearable with each song he sang. How would I make it back to the hotel without coming first?

It was precious how Callahan blushed at the sight of my arousal. “Now that I know you haven’t been with anyone for years, your raging horniness makes a lot more sense.”

I reached down to stroke my length as I held his gaze. “This has everything to do with finally being blessed enough to have the chance to prove to you I’m not all talk.”

He blinked at me several times with a dazed look.

Not wanting to overwhelm him with too much too soon, I stopped touching myself. “Are you having second thoughts?”

“About what?”

He took a deep breath as he squared his shoulders with resolve. “I might have had a few inappropriate late-night thoughts wondering what it would be like if I ever said yes to your offers to suck my dick.”

What a delightful kernel of knowledge that was. Rather than thanking him for giving me something new to fantasize about, I nodded to show I was listening, and he should continue.

“We’re always clothed when you tugged my pants down when I reached the point where I couldn’t take the teasing anymore.” He looked away in embarrassment. “I never pictured either of us being completely naked.”

“Would it make you more comfortable if I put my clothes back on?”

“No, but I feel like I’m supposed to have a squeamish straight-guy reaction to seeing you jerking off, but, um…”

I was dying to know how that sentence ended. “You can tell me.”

He looked up at the ceiling with a pained expression. “I can’t say it. It’s going to make me sound so self-centered.”

“That’s fine. It’s hot when your ego comes out to play a little.” Grinning at him, I tried to convince him some more. “It should be fairly obvious by this point that I love it when you’re a bit of a bastard. Lay it on me.”

It took him a few moments to build up the courage to confess. “Instead of being grossed out watching you touching yourself, it’s kind of…um, well, it’s sort of sexy seeing how turned on you are because of me. I don’t know what to do with that reaction.”

“You’ve got plenty of time to overanalyze it later. All that matters right now is you’re into this.”

He drew a shuddering breath. “Way more than I was expecting.”

I closed the distance between us to give him a searing kiss to refocus his attention on what was happening. He whimpered into it as I let my hands wander over his bare skin. I slowly worked down to his shorts, unbuttoning them and sending them to the floor.

I stopped shy of my goal, even as I took a moment to appreciate the bulge straining in his navy briefs. “Do you want me to keep going?”

“Dear god, please.”

This was kind of a continuation/off-shoot of It Might Be Hot: A Friends to Lovers Gay Romance (Suntastic Fun Book 1), so similar to the first book, this one was about the same. Lots of sex, LOTS, and a couple that were friends, become lovers and are in love pretty much overnight.

It was very, for want of a better word, schmoopy. Very gushy, with Baxley being in love with Callahan from the first time they met. It was insta-love three years later. 🙂 With lots of sex. lol

I did enjoy that we got to learn a bit more about these guys than the first book, and we did learn that the reason Bax was so flirty with Callahan was not because he was just a huge flirt, but because he kept hoping Callahan would just take him up on it.

It was low angst, very sweet, and you felt for Bax who had been in love with his best friend for all this time. However, there was definitely a lack of meat to it. With it being a beachy/summer read, though, that’s what you’re generally looking for. A fun, quick read.

“You’re very confusing.” Zio’s eyebrows furrowed as he studied me. “Like, really confusing.”

I tilted my head as I regarded him. “In what way?”

“You’re impossible, but you’re real. You act as if you want me, but there’s no way in hell that’s true.” He scoffed as if it were the most ridiculous notion he had ever heard before.

The confirmation that he was at least aware I wanted him helped me judge where I stood with him. “Why not?”

“People like you don’t want guys like me.” After hearing about how his parents rejected him, his disbelief was more understandable. I was about to speak when he continued. “And guys like me aren’t supposed to want people like you.”

“Why not?”

He bit his lower lip as he hesitated. “Because you make me want things I shouldn’t, which is so damn confusing.”

“Such as?”

He gave me a pointed look. “You. I’m not supposed to want you. But you keep making me want you, and it’s fucking with my head, not gonna lie.”

“What if I want you to want me?” My question made him flush bright red. “What if I desired that very much?”

He touched the back of his fingers against his cheeks to check if they were as flushed as they felt. “It’s against the rules.”

“What rules?”

“The ones that say I play for the other team,” he mumbled without looking at me. “But you cause me to question the ethics of switching teams, which is scary. It’s not worth it for one game, but…”

Hearing he was straight explained a lot about his scared reactions to being attracted to me. “But you still want to?”

Hiding his face in his hands, he groaned. “But what if it’s not just for one game? What if I end up wanting to sign on for a permanent transfer?”

“Wouldn’t that be a good thing?”

“Only if you were playing for keeps. But that’s not what this is about.” He sighed heavily, avoiding my eyes. “I’m not even sure that’s what I’m hoping for. I’m so confused, I’m using sports metaphors, for fuck’s sake. I don’t know anything about sports.”

“Zio, look at me.” I waited until he obeyed before I continued speaking. “I’m not interested in playing a game with your heart.”

He fidgeted under my gaze. “I’d disappoint you by being an awkward virgin with a man.”

“There would be nothing disappointing about that,” I reassured him. “I’d take very good care of you.”

My words sent a visible shiver through him that made my ego purr. “I’m not saying no. But I need a little more time to sort my thoughts out about this before I can say yes.”

His comment gave me hope I still had a chance with him. “Take all the time you need. I have no intention of pressuring you into something you’re not comfortable doing.”

“Which is a huge tick in the column of why I should give in to you.” His wry grin was adorable. “For what it’s worth, the voice in the back of my mind is very vocal about letting you introduce me to a whole new world of pleasure. You don’t make it easy to tell it no.”

“Whatever it’s promising you, reality will be better than you can fathom.”

I could see the chills on his skin my words inspired. “That’s an awfully big promise.”

“Non, it is a guarantee.”

I’ve enjoyed a few of this author’s books now, for their sweetness, hotness, and the characters that are varied in their lives and loves. This book had themes about learning to love yourself, as well as being open to love when you had no idea that was ever on your radar.

This book was pure sweet insta-love, from page 1. Zio didn’t quite understand where it was going, since he’d always thought of himself as straight. Meanwhile Armand, surprisingly, didn’t seem to have any issues, despite having always felt that he was just going to be a playboy, unable or unwilling to find one love.

Zio’s work passion was so intriguing that I had to look it up myself. It’s beautiful. I loved that Zio received such fantastic support from Armand, but also from his brother with regards to not just his sexuality, but his schooling and work as well.

This book was just gooey, sweet, adorable as well as a visual feast of the land around them.

Very enjoyable, with characters that steal your heart.
