Once Upon a Christmas House by A.D. Ellis: New Release Review

November 16, 2023 by Denise

Ivyrson is the quintessential Scrooge when it comes to anything having to do with the holidays. However, the chance to win a hefty chunk of money and free repairs on his old home is enough to entice the man to take part in a holiday-themed reality game.

Emory has had a crush on his older brother’s best friend for years. When the chance to help Ivy possibly win a reality game comes along, Emory doesn’t hesitate. After all, that’s what friends are for.

The two men have known each other forever, but living together and pretending to be a couple means getting to know each other on a whole new level. Can they convince the viewing audience their fake relationship deserves to win the grand prize? Or will Ivy and Emory get swept up in the holiday magic and find themselves falling in love for real?

Once Upon a Christmas House is a steamy, forced-proximity, fake relationship, M/M Christmas romance between a grumpy Scrooge and his best friend’s cheery little brother.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

This story had a super cute premise, perfect setting and tropes galore. And it brought in a very modern aspect of a streaming reality show that has viewers vote every week. Definitely fun.

The grumpy guy is the one who wants to win the reality show so he can fix up his dream house and infuse a bit of capital into his auto shop business. And since the show calls for couples, his best friend offers to fake it with him. Until circumstances happen and he can’t. So his best friend’s brother offers. The gay brother who has had a crush on Ivy forever. It’s fine though, right?

The premise of the reality show was a little weak. Besides a few challenges that they do and daily interviews, there isn’t much to it. Then they added “After Dark” challenges that were a bit cringy. They didn’t have to do those, but they were worth points, so how are you supposed to win by not doing them? *shrug*

The story also leans heavily on Ivy hating Christmas. There are dramatic statements like his father blew up their lives. A little over the top. I kind of wanted to slap him, a la Cher “Snap out of it!”. He’s made it his personality.

Of course Ivy and best friend’s brother, Emory, can’t keep their hands off of each other after just a few days of being fake boyfriends for the show. I did like how Ivy was pretty chill with the fact that he was fooling around with a guy for the first time. There was no big sexuality crisis. He just rolled with it for the most part.

There was a bit of “Christmas magic” in the story as well surrounding the house. I wish that had been highlighted more and shown on the reality show more because it was fun.

This was a mostly cute start to the Christmas book season. Enough to get you in the spirit of things.

No Backing Down (Zone Defense Book 4) by Becca Seymour: New Release Review

November 14, 2023 by Denise

When we’re both needy and tactile AF, it’s no wonder everyone thinks my best friend and I are an item. But that’s so not what’s going on.

Cassius Britton, the mouthy basketball player for the Minnesota Eagles, is my soul mate. He has been since he shared his gummy bears and let me have all the red ones.

Because that’s the kind of person he is—selfless and sweet. But he’s so much more than that. He’s the man who rescued me from my homophobic parents. He’s the man who brought me and my sister into his family home and wrapped us in love and sunshine.

All of that, and so much more, makes us soul mates—which doesn’t mean he’s meant to be mine.

And when I become a dad and have to balance being a cop in our small town while dealing with grief, of course he steps up, because that’s who Cassius is.

But when I need to get married, when I need a man to step up and be by my side, maybe Cassius is too close. Too much of a risk.

Because how can I possibly marry my best friend and not start to fall, especially when the secrets between us are so explosive, they’ll either burn us to the ground or set our hearts free forever?

Trigger warnings can be on the Blurb page at the beginning of the e-book or on my website’s product page.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

I love a good friends to lovers story. And this was guys who had been friends since they were 5. So I was ready.

Overall, it was a good story. I enjoyed that it started back when they were kids. But there were quite a few as they touched heavily on big moments in their lives. Then there is a time jump of like 6 years. I’m unsure of the exact time but college is over and they are both well established in their careers. I wanted to see a continuation of their connection instead of a time jump that brought them together because of a crisis.

Working through the crisis we get explanations of how and when different things happened. But I feel like those things deserved more attention than they got. A lot more.

It was an enjoyable read, but I wanted a little more.

Jersey Royal (Flying into Love #5) by CF White: New Release Review

October 31, 2023 by Denise

.                             .

Can a humble farmer bag himself a true Jersey royal to save his farm…and steal his heart?

Distant royal, Nicholas Osbourne, has one last chance to prove his worth to his wealthy family. A string of bad press over even worse relationships has him agreeing to star in a reality television series getting down and dirty with the ordinary folk. He can live a lie for a week. He’s been doing it for years.

Jersey potato farmer, Alex Hamon, has no time nor patience to babysit a pretentious television crew, nor a work-shy, bratty rich-kid. But the hefty fee and potential promotional opportunities for his farm are too tempting to turn down. He just needs to keep his head in the soil, and not on how his under-the-radar gaydar is blinking overtime for the rogue royal.

Nicholas is out of his depth. Distracted by the stunningly sexy farmer’s son, he’s unable to bury his attraction the way he has been back in London. But he’s on camera. Twenty-four-seven. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. His only saving grace is that the farmer’s son is straight…isn’t he?

Jersey Royal (Flying into Love #5) is an opposites attract, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, rich v poor, first time contemporary MM romance featuring an appearances-is-everything royal with a secret and a temperamental potato farmer with a track record for burying things.

Title: Jersey Royal
Authors: C F White
Length: 312 pages
Series: Flying into Love, Book 5
Genre: Contemporary.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

This was a sweet, low angst romance, very Harlequin-esque.

The plot was cute, though not all that original. Spoiled royal (although like a bazillionth in line for the throne), playboy, failed fashion designer is basically cut off and his family gets a producer to do a reality show with him. Where he travels around the country doing “regular” jobs. Very “A Simple Life” but with royalty.

Of course Nicholas doesn’t want to do it and their first stop, a potato farm in Jersey, wasn’t expecting him. Well, the owner was but he forgot to tell anyone before he was incapacitated.

There are pratfalls and dirt and a marriage in name only and two guys in the closet and potatoes. Lots of potatoes. Alex, son of the owner and de facto boss, is grouchy and cranky and wants nothing to do with it. But he has no choice as his father signed a contract.

Prim and proper Nicholas is actually a lot more of a good sport in that he mostly goes along with what the producer wants. I have to say I was a little surprised at how snarky she is toward him.

It’s a romance, you can gather what happens with Alex and Nicholas. I do wish Nicholas got a bit more validation. He often thinks to himself that no one likes him and so many things are his fault. When, mostly, they aren’t his fault. And people don’t not like him, I think they were just used to using him for his money. That’s a bit obvious when he doesn’t hear from a single friend while he is doing the reality show.

Everyone gets their happily ever after, as they should. But I still felt badly for how the producer and even his parents treated Nicholas.

A Matcha Made in Hell: An Enemies-to-Lovers MM Bully Romance (Boyfriend Café Book 1) by FA Ray: New Release Review

October 30, 2023 by Denise

Who would have guessed my high school bully could be such a good boy?
Rhett

The worst day of my life was my first day of high school – the day I met him. Spencer Marsh. The guy who would shove me into lockers for the next four years.

I never expected to reunite with him in college. I definitely didn’t predict that sparks would fly. This new and improved Spencer is subverting all my expectations, but I’m not sure if that’s a good thing.

Hooking up with a guy I used to hate is turning into more than just a shameful secret. I should put a stop to it. I should want to put a stop to it. So why don’t I?

Spencer

I’ve been trying since graduation to be different from the guy I was in high school, but seeing Rhett again stirs up old emotions – and an overwhelming desire to atone.

Nevermind that that atonement seems to be happening in some … compromising positions.

My frat brothers and father would never accept what I’m doing, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to stop me. I’m finally the man I want to be, the person I’ve been repressing for most of my life. And it’s all thanks to the guy who used to be the target of my worst impulses.

I only hope Rhett will give me a chance to prove I’m not who I used to be.

A Matcha Made in Hell is an MM enemies-to-lovers romance with first time gay experiences, found family, a bully who just wants to show he’s changed his ways, and spicy open door scenes. Readers should note that some scenes include *spicier* spice. You can find a full list of these acts at linktr.ee/faraywrites

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited – All Regions

This is my first book by this author. And while it was cute, some things were a little problematic and I wanted more of other things.

What I wanted more of- the humiliation kink that Spencer apparently has. Since their first sexual encounter involved that I was hoping for more. A lot more. And there was some, but definitely not enough for my tastes. There were still some vanilla sex scenes in there.

You would never think that Rhett, the gay kid who was literally shoved in lockers in high school would seem to have that humiliation roll right off of his tongue. Which is why it was so hot. Especially directed at his former bully. Give me more!

What I didn’t love was The Boyfriend Cafe. I know, I know. Major plot line that is going to connect more books. But it just kind of seemed like a “rent a gay bff” thing for girls who had boy troubles. It kind of icked me out. And at the beginning they wanted to keep it on the super down low so the college didn’t find out but it is so popular they are booked months in advance. Doesn’t sound very hush hush to me.

Back to Rhett and Spencer. I honestly really liked them together. I loved that after Spencer kind of accepted that yes he wanted to do this with Rhett, he got affection and validation from Rhett. Which he obviously desperately needed. But it also let Rhett share affection with someone else.

Spencer is in the closet for most of the book but (spoiler alert) he does come out to family and friends. I’d like to say more on that but I won’t because bigger spoilers.

This is the first in a series and I liked it enough that I want to read book 2. And book 3 if it is about who I want it to be about. Because that needs to happen.

Better Latte Than Never by CC Bridges: Blog Tour, Exclusive Excerpt, New Release Review and Giveaway

July 25, 2023 by Denise

.                            .

Finn’s love stories always end in death.

He’s made millions writing as author Morgan Heart and his fans can’t get enough of his tragic love stories. But a bad breakup results in a killer case of writer’s block, and Finn needs to try something drastic to fix it, like. . .going to a coffee shop to write. There’s got to be a reason it’s a cliche, and in his world, cliches sell.

He shouldn’t be flirting with the hot, younger barista. He shouldn’t be using said beautiful barista as another character to kill off in his new book. And he sure as hell shouldn’t be getting his heart involved, especially since he’s still keeping his real identity secret.

Working at his aunt’s coffee shop is a temporary thing. . . that’s been going on for eight years now. One day soon Enzo is finally going to make it big with his art and move on. But when Finn walks into the cafe – confident, mature, put together, everything Enzo is not – he can’t help developing a huge crush, even if Finn is a customer.

As their relationship deepens, Finn’s deceptions and Enzo’s insecurities threaten to undermine everything they are starting to build together. If they can each confront their inner demons, then Finn might be writing a happy ending for the first time in his life.

Better Latte Than Never is an m/m age gap, coffee shop romance featuring a slow burn attraction that grows steamier than an espresso machine.

Warnings: Mention of partner betrayal, death of character’s parents in the past

“What brings you to our cafe?” He winced at how terrible that sounded. Apparently Enzo completely forgot how to flirt when it was a customer he thought was hot. He could charm the old ladies like nobody’s business, but a cute guy? Nope.

Finn nodded at his laptop. “Came for the Wi-Fi and stayed for the coffee. And then the surprise party.” He picked up his fork and stabbed the last piece of cake left on his plate. “This cake is amazing.”

“Everything my aunt bakes is amazing.” Enzo watched the bit of chocolate make its way to Finn’s mouth and the sensual way his lips closed around the metal of the fork. That shouldn’t be turning Enzo on right now, but God, if he didn’t want to follow that piece of cake with his own tongue against Finn’s lips.

“So what do you make that’s amazing?” Finn asked with a wink, and that was when Enzo knew they were in business, or at least on the same wavelength.

He could feel the blush creeping up his cheeks. “I don’t bake, but I do brew a mean cup of espresso.”

“I’d love to have a taste.”

“You’ve got—” Enzo gestured to his own face. A smear of chocolate had found its way to Finn’s chin. “Here.” He picked up a napkin from the table and brushed it away.

Finn took the napkin, his fingers tangling with Enzo’s for a moment. His eyes were smoldering. “Thank you.”

Enzo cleared his throat and pulled at the collar of his shirt. Who’d turned up the heat in here? “What are you working on?”

“My book. It’s not behaving.” Finn glared at his laptop. “I’m hoping coming here will help spark…something.”

Enzo opened his mouth to tell Finn exactly what he hoped it would spark when he felt a tug on his sleeve. He looked over to find Scottie had left his mother’s side. The kid seemed to like Enzo. Any time he and his mother visited while Enzo was working, Scottie would trail him around the cafe.

“Enzo, I saw you had your sketchbooks,” he whispered. “Are you going to draw me again?”

Before he could reply, Tami had made it to their side of the room. “Scottie, leave him alone. That was a special occasion!”

Enzo had done caricatures one day as a promo for the cafe. Scottie had loved the little drawing Enzo had done of him as an astronaut. “It’s not a problem. Let me get this gentleman some more coffee first. Are you drinking regular, or would you like to try my espresso?”

“I’d love to try your espresso.” Finn smiled, and for a moment it felt like they were the only two people in the entire cafe.

But Enzo had to get back to work, shattering the illusion. He went behind the counter, quickly chatted with his aunt so she could leave for the day while brewing Finn’s espresso. Then he grabbed his sketchbook and tucked it under his arm before bringing out the coffee.

“Here you go.”

“Thank you. About that drawing you’re going to do?” Finn accepted the cup of coffee but didn’t drink it.

Enzo gestured with his sketchbook. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m going to make a cartoon for Scottie over there.”

“Mind if I watch? Unless you’re the kind of artist who can’t work while someone is looking at them?”

“You’re procrastinating, aren’t you?” Enzo teased. “Let me guess. Deadline?”

“You have no idea.”

Enzo shook his head. “You can watch if you want. I’m used to it.”

This is a new to me author, but the premise sounded cute so why not? Featuring an age gap, as well as a success gap, and both of those things can easily be death to a relationship. Together with secrets, it can be a recipe for disaster.

One MC is successful in his chosen field, but hiding it from the other. Meanwhile, Enzo, the picture of a struggling artist, has his own insecurities to deal with, and they begin to hurt their relationship as well.

There’s definitely some life lessons for these characters, as they work to grow as people and in their relationship.

I did struggle a bit with this book, as I found the interactions stiff between the two MC’s, and for me, I wasn’t sure if it was intended to be that way, or the writing was a bit too stiff for me. I started and stopped this book a couple of times before finally getting into it later in the book. In the end, they struggled to get to find the right place to land in their relationship, but just like I needed, an HEA.

Head Over Feels: A Bent Oak, Texas Novel by Bix Barrow: Blog Tour, Exclusive Excerpt, New Release Review and Giveaway

July 10, 2023 by Denise

.                                     .

Well, this puts the “ex” in “explosive”…

Felix: What would happen if everyone you’d ever dated got together and plotted against you?

For me, it’s glitter bombs. Lots and lots of glitter bombs.

Okay, maybe I deserved the first one or two. Or three. But when things become less glitter and more grenade, I’m forced into hiding with the smokin’ hot older client I just had a sizzling one-night stand with.

Malcolm’s gruff exterior hides a marshmallow center (who else would hire a pet massage therapist for their elderly cat?) — but until the bomber is behind bars, neither of us are safe.

And no one would risk their life for a disaster like me…right?

Malcolm: I wasn’t under any illusions the night I ended up in Felix’s bed. He’s just my type — smart, funny, and adorable with just the right amount of meat on his bones.

But a guy like that deserves more than a grouchy forty-something ex-FBI agent with a broken body and a screwed-up brain. So, I knew we were only ever in this for one night.

Except now with his dating history blowing up in his face, Felix is turning to me for help.

And I’m pretty sure my feelings can’t be defused.

Head Over Feels is a low-angst MM contemporary romance. Come for the grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity (but there are two beds, sorry), hurt/comfort, and found family. Stay for the 1985 Buick Riviera convertible, dreams coming true, personal growth, game nights, and an online date gone very, very, wrong. HEA guaranteed!

Head Over Feels is part of the Bent Oak, Texas series. It can be read as a standalone but will be more enjoyable if you’ve read Heart Me Up first. Characters from Holding On to a Hero have significant roles as well, in case you want the complete backstory.

Holding On to a Hero

Heart Me Up

(from Felix’s POV)

“So,” Jaime remarked as he forked up some of his osso buco, “Tell me your professional aspirations. Surely you aren’t planning on working in a call center forever.”

The way he phrased the comment rubbed me a little the wrong way, but I brushed the concern aside. He’d brought up something I was excited to share with him.

“I’m actually planning to go into business for myself,” I told him. He gazed at me with rapt attention while he sipped his wine. It was heady, let me tell you, to have someone that good-looking focused on me.

“I recently got my certification to be a pet massage therapist.”

Jaime went still, his wine glass midair. “I’m sorry, a what?”

“A pet massage therapist,” I repeated enthusiastically. “Animals get arthritis or other mobility issues, same as humans. Massage can help them walk more easily and reduce pain. I completed a certification course and in a few months I’ll be doing pet massage full time.”

While I’d expounded on my favorite topic, Jaime had slowly lowered his wine glass to the table. I’d been so energized by what I was saying, I’d finished speaking before I noticed his expression was… not encouraging.

Jaime’s eyebrows—which I now noticed had been waxed—scrunched together. “This is a career you are set on?”

Hadn’t I just said that? “Yes. I’d originally planned to be a Veterinary Technician, but I did some shadowing in a vet’s office and, well… it wasn’t for me. Doc Pinkerton, the vet there, suggested I try pet massage therapy instead. I love it.”

Jaime frowned and shook his head. “I’m sorry, Felix. It didn’t occur to me to ask about this when we were chatting online. I’ve enjoyed our dinner very much up to now.”

My mouth dropped open. He. Was. Not. And yet, he was. “But I cannot date someone with such an…” He waved a hand as if searching for the right word. “Unambitious career. I’d be the laughingstock of my friends and business associates.”

I sat there, staring in shock. I could feel the blood draining from my face. Jaime would be embarrassed by my being a pet massage therapist? My dream job?

Cal’s voice rang through my head, reminding me how vulnerable my former dates had made themselves by sharing their unusual pastimes.

Jaime interrupted my awful epiphany. “I’d still be down to fuck after dinner though.”

Who the heck did this guy think he was?

I sputtered, trying to form the words to tell him to go screw himself, when Jaime glanced past me toward the restaurant’s entrance.

He froze. His eyes went wide and his face went Oh shit. “Quick,” he said, his voice low and urgent. “You are my work colleague, an architect. Just play along.”

Oh, hell to the no. On top of everything else, he was cheating? My dream career was embarrassing to a cheater?

I considered throwing my drink on him, but I didn’t have much left. In the spirit of getting something, however small, out of this debacle, I drained my wine glass. Then I set my napkin next to my plate and pushed back from the table. I’d wallow in my anger later. Right now I needed to exit, pronto.

“Sorry, Jaime, I’m not helping you. You’re an ass.”

Jaime barely had time to look confused before a harsh voice boomed out, “What the fuck is this?”

Dang it, too late.

I couldn’t avoid looking at the man stomping toward us. He was in his mid-thirties, dark-haired, tall, and rangy like a runner. And—scowly glare notwithstanding—very attractive. Huh, Jaime must be one of those rare people who didn’t have a physical type. I mean, my face was okay, but….

What the heck was I doing? It was past time to leave.

Jaime’s boyfriend—hopefully just a boyfriend; I didn’t see a ring—was followed by two other men, another tall dark-haired guy and a shorter blond guy. The boyfriend’s entire body was taut with rage, and his friends’ expressions were grim. Any of them could probably kick my ass. Crap.

Jaime put out a placating hand toward his boyfriend. “Listen, babe,” he started.

“You said you had to work late. You said you’d be ordering dinner in with your team. He is not your team.” He pointed at me but stared daggers at Jaime.

Jaime’s expression said he was pretty sure he’d be able to talk his way out of the situation. I was pretty sure he was wrong.

Felix, get out.

I stood up, pushing the chair back with my legs. “I thought he was single, I swear,” I muttered, keeping my head down. Hopefully I’d be allowed to leave without getting punched first.

I stepped away from the table to make my getaway, but in my haste I caught my shoe on a chair leg, causing me to stumble right into Jaime’s boyfriend.

“Oof! I’m so sorry!” I cried as I thudded into his chest. He didn’t look like he lifted weights or anything, but it was like I’d hit a wall; he didn’t even step back. Did I mention I’m not the skinniest guy around? The boyfriend didn’t look at me, just put his hands on my biceps and pushed me upright. I sidled away as quickly and inconspicuously as possible. Thankfully the blond guy took my elbow and pointed me toward the exit. I managed to nod my thanks and hightail it out of the restaurant.

Cole owed me so hard for this.

I yanked my phone from my pocket as I power-walked through the parking lot. Should I call or text him? Yelling would be pretty satisfying right now, I decided.

This is a new series to me, as well as a new to me author. It mentioned that it was stand-alone, but the beginning was a bit hard to follow, so I’m thinking it would be easier to read the first two books.

Malcolm and Felix are quite sweet together, and I enjoyed how the author was able to integrate the mystery and the romance to their relationship. Felix was a pet massage therapist (who knew that was a thing?) with some serious dating disasters. Meanwhile Malcom was a grump, but also very protective.

While there was a lot of action, suspense, mystery, there was also a lot of funny parts. With great secondary characters that came from the previous books. If you like grumpy/sunshine, with a side of forced proximity, then give this one a shot.

Did you see?✨SINS OF THE FATHER by @isabel__lucero is available NOW! Grab it in KU! #OneClickHerea.co/d/3wodrb1 Why you need to #ONECLICK this book…❤️‍🔥Taboo/Forbidden✟ Priest x Mafia hitman❤️‍🔥Opposites attract✟ Antihero❤️‍🔥MM romanceHe comes to me through a lattice in a confessional booth in my church. He’s brash, vulgar, and confessing to things that would send him to hell, and yet, I find myself intrigued by the mysterious man.His sinful words thrill me. His way of life, so different from my own, has me coveting excitement that’s long been missing. The more I’m around him, the more I realize how long I’ve been deprived of so much, and the more my own deviance begins to emerge. On paper, nothing about the two of us makes sense, and there are many reasons why I should keep my distance. I try to be pious, but if anyone were to find the skeletons in my closet, I’d be excommunicated from the church. When something from my past reveals itself, I find myself being pulled into a way of life I didn’t think would be in my future, and now I straddle the line between right and wrong. Morality vs necessity.I’m a priest. He’s a murderer. But we’re both sinners.#newbookalert #isabellucero #kindleunlimited #mmromance #bookstagram #booktok #romancebooks #spicyromance The Author Agency ... See MoreSee Less

Did you see?✨ ILY by @authoremlindsey & @coraroseauthor is available NOW! Grab it in KU!#OneClickNowbooks2read.com/u/49wOaY Why you need to #ONECLICK this book…❤️Mistaken Identity❤️Hookups to Lovers❤️High Heat❤️Murder Mystery❤️Hearing/HoH❤️Farmer/FBI Agent❤️Found Family❤️MM Romance❤️RomcomWhoever convinced me that quitting my job as an interpreter to take over my dead aunt’s farm should be covered in honey and left for the ants. Oh wait…that was me. I was burnt out and ready for a change, but I didn’t expect what came with it. An orchard full of fruit I’m allergic to.A bunch of farm equipment I don’t know how to use.And a vindictive, vicious groundhog who has made it his life’s mission to drive me to the brink of madness. But in my quest to find a permanent solution for Michael, I’ve also acquired something else I didn’t expect: a stalker. I should be more concerned that the man offering to sell me TNT has followed me home, but Thorne is the most gorgeous thing I have ever laid eyes on, and we communicate well. With our hands in ASL, yeah, but also with our lips, tongues, hips…and other parts of the body. It’s also increasingly obvious that Thorne is much more than a stalker. With my focus on trying to stop Michael from using his little paws to dig my grave, though, it’s hard to worry about his secrets. But skeletons never stay buried for long, and when everything comes to light, I can’t help but wonder if Thorne is the best thing that will ever happen to me, or the worst. ILY is the second book in the Deaf Hearts series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It’s a spicy, MM, strangers to lovers rom-com featuring a burnt out, not-quite farmer, a tall, dark, and handsome man with a mission and a secret, a groundhog that knows more than everyone else, and a toe-curling, feet-kicking happily ever after.#newrelease #corarose #emlindsey #kindleunlimited #mmromance The Author Agency ... ✨EXCERPT: SOMEWHERE TOGETHER by @authormandymuse releasing December 1st! #PreOrderNow a.co/d/dLGPAjx My best friend looked like hell but he had also never looked so good. His hair was a little longer, he had trimmed facial hair that gave him a more rugged look and seeing him with Sol always made my non-existent ovaries go into overdrive.I didn’t go with him into the house as he dropped off Sol, because I needed a little space and time to think about us. Was I really going to tell him that I loved him? Baring my soul to him sounded like a really bad idea. Maybe we could just kiss and make up then, maybe once we were in a better place I could casually say,“Hey I love you and want your babies.”Why was this so fucking hard?I was scared, I was being a child and I knew if I just told him then I could move on, no matter the outcome. Sam left the front door and Forest was right behind him. Nova must have said something funny because they laughed together, glancing at one another before waving as the door closed.Forest said something to Sam, making him scowl but Forest was enjoying his discomfort. I looked between them, noticing the vast differences between them. They were good looking in their own way but they were such opposites. Light and dark. A flash of them in bed together popped into my mind. Forest’s darker tan against Sam's lighter skin and them grinding together. Sam liked to top but would he bottom for Forest?Forest screamed dominant top and picturing them together had me uncomfortable in my uniform. My window was lowered as I heard them talking, my fantasy getting dirtier and ranchier.✨INFLUENCERS: Sign up here to promote this awesome release: bit.ly/somewheretogethersignup#mandymuse #kindleunlimited #mmmromance #booktok #bookstagram The Author Agency @authormandymuse ... ✨TEASER: DEVIANT by @coraroseauthor & @larktaylorauthor releasing December 5th! #PreOrderNowmybook.to/DeviantTFWhy you need to #ONECLICK this book…🔥kidnapping gone wrong🖤forced proximity🔥only one bed🖤touch him and d!e🔥secret society🖤obsessive mc🔥found family🖤mm romanceIn my defense, this is all Brad’s fault.I had one very important job: kidnap Brad.I’ve never kidnapped someone before but how hard could it be? Find Brad. Snatch Brad. Deliver Brad to the very scary people who hold my fate in their hands. So when a handsome, flirty stranger at the bar drops his name, I think my luck has finally turned. No chase. No fight. The man practically throws himself in my trunk, smiling like it’s a treat to be taken, like he wants me to have him.The only problem? “Brad,” the charming and slightly unhinged man I’ve been keeping hostage for days, may be the most dangerous man of all.Now I’m knee-deep in a life of crime I never signed up for. Tangled up with a man I never meant to take—and definitely never meant to fall for. And I’m staring down the barrel of a gun for mistakes I never should’ve made.Because everyone knows The Firm never forgives a debt… and they always collect in blood.✨INFLUENCERS: Sign up to review this awesome release: bit.ly/deviantsignup#corarose #larktaylor #kindleunlimited #mmromance The Author Agency ... Sins of the Father by Isabel LuceroMy review: 4 POECSolid mafia book with the added twist of the priest.I am not religious at all, but I did grow up in the church. Still, it doesn't offend me at all that the priest was...gay, has a father in the mafia, is hooking up with his father's bodyguard and more. And I still think it was pretty respectful. Because Carlo, the priest, was still fighting his urges. Still praying for guidance and forgiveness. Still trying to uphold his position. But then there's a point of no return. And it's obvious to everyone.Javier is a gun for hire. Not a made man. Not officially part of any family. But Carlo's father kind of claimed him after Javier's own father was killed. That caused some friction between families but it wasn't too bad. What was bad was the rat in the family. And when it is time to suss him out and really take care of the problem, Carlo knew he had to do what he had to do.The dynamics between the different families got a little confusing for me, but that was me. I liked how the book had an actual plot and story besides Carlo and Javier. Besides the whole priest thing, mafia men aren't gay. Or aren't allowed to be gay. So let me say that THAT scene toward the end had my mouth dropping open. DAMNIf you like mafia books and aren't squeamish about religion and blasphemy, this is a good read ... See MoreSee Less
