Ryder and Felix spent the next hour working on technique. They didn’t full out spar again, but they did do some floor work that left them both sweaty and in need of a shower.

“How’s the apprehension now?” Ryder asked as they toweled off.

“Much better. Who knew getting sweaty and rolling around on the floor with you would be the cure for my nerves?”

Ryder grinned as he grabbed the water bottle he’d brought down with him and unscrewed the cap. “Usually, we’re not trying to knock each other out when we’re rolling around and getting sweaty.”

“True.” Felix grinned. “I feel like it says something about our relationship that we love to spar almost as much as we like to fuck.”

“I wouldn’t go that far.” Ryder grinned as he took several long swallows from the bottle. “Fucking is definitely way above sparring.”

Felix laughed as he took the bottle Ryder offered him. “Good to know,” he said after he’d taken several gulps. “But sparring is still definitely up there on the list.”

“Agreed.” Ryder took the bottle back from Felix and finished what was left before tossing it aside.

Ryder was disciplined enough that he could focus on their training while they were in the midst of it, but as soon as things were done, he let his guard down and allowed his body to react to being in such close proximity to his sweaty, gorgeous lover.

Felix seemed to be on the same page and dropped one hand to his cock, squeezing his visible bulge as he looked Ryder up and down.

“You have no idea how much I wish we were in my apartment right now.”

“You and me both.” Ryder dropped the towel he’d picked up and glanced at the door. It was closed, so they’d hear it if someone decided to come down. “Come here.”

Capture (Torsere #1) by Annabelle Jacobs: New Release Review

August 10, 2020 by Denise

Thrown together, forced to fake a relationship both their lives depend on…

To be a dragon rider is all Nykin ever wanted. Destined from birth, and forged by magic at the age of twenty-one, he earns his place in the king’s army. But it’s not the only thing he dreams of. Lusting after the king maybe be foolish, but that doesn’t stop Nykin’s pulse from racing whenever he’s near.

Ryneq always knew he’d rule Torsere one day, but never expected it to happen quite so soon. The death of his parents forced him into a role he wasn’t prepared for and a romantic attachment is low on his list of priorities. Yet still Nykin manages to catch his interested and hold it.

With his land under threat from the lowland armies, an alliance with the elves seems Ryneq’s only option to protect the kingdom. But seeing it to fruition is fraught with danger and even the best laid plans can be thwarted. With hope all but lost, Nykin embarks on a deadly mission, willing risk everything for his duty and his king.

Featuring forced proximity, fake relationships, all wrapped up in a romantic fantasy full of suspense and intrigue. Capture is the first book in the Torsere trilogy.

Amazon – Kindle Unlimited

MM Fantasy with dragons, a King, and a dragon rider? Ding Ding Ding – It’s like getting six winning lotto numbers.

What I liked – World building, characters, story, slow-burn. Not the same old, or even close. King Rynek is stuck between a rock and a hard place, both geographically, and the fact that he needs to get his sister safely married to her Elven future husband to ensure their magical protection for his people. Except things don’t go according to plan (Shock, gasp), the King gets kidnapped, and step-up one plucky dragon rider, Rynek, and his dragon to ride to the rescue, save the princess, and all the while having the hots for the king.

What I didn’t like – nothing!

My only complaint was I had to ask for books two and three.

Easy 5 pieces of eye candy!

High Heat (Hotshots Book 2) by Annabeth Albert: New Release Review *2

August 10, 2020 by Denise

Annabeth Albert’s Hotshots series continues—the emotions and intensity of Chicago Fire with the raw, natural elements of Man vs. Wild.

Smoke jumping is Garrick Nelson’s life. Nothing, not severe injuries nor the brutal physical therapy that follows, is going to stop him from getting back with his crew. But when a lost dog shows up on his front porch, he can’t turn her away, and he can’t take care of her on his own. Thankfully, help comes in the form of his new sexy, dog-loving neighbor. As they work together, trying to re-home their little princess, Garrick can’t resist his growing attraction for the other man, even though he knows this guy isn’t the staying type.

Rain Fisher doesn’t take anything too seriously. He dances through life, one adventure at a time, never settling in one place for too long. When his hot, conveniently buff, neighbor shows up on his doorstep, dog in tow, Rain’s determined to not just save the adorable puppy, but her reluctant owner as well. He never expects their flirtation might tempt him into stay put once and for all…

Danger lurks everywhere for Central Oregon’s fire crews, but the biggest risk of all might be losing their hearts. Don’t miss the Hotshots series from Annabeth Albert: Burn Zone, High Heat, and Feel the Fire.

Amazon

Oh Garrick. We met him in book 1 as the best friend of Linc. The super cocky smoke jumper who was gravely injured (seriously gasp inducing as I read it) at the end of book 1. Book 2 gives us a bit of a time jump as Garrick is home now, but still in recovery mode.

His neighbor across the street is an older lady he gets along with well. And then, because of a stray dog that ended up on his porch, he meets his neighbor’s grandson. Much younger grandson.

I loved Rain. This poor kid is so lost but tries to act like he has it together. Growing up in basically a hippie commune, he is definitely a free spirit. But he is feeling the pressure of not really knowing what he wants to do with his life. He is a natural caretaker though, so when Garrick needs help with the stray dog, Rain is all in.

And so begins the older/younger we shouldn’t/but we want to game. Garrick was the typical grumbly older guy feeling like he was taking advantage of Rain. But Rain was sex positive, has no hangups about age and has no problem teasing Garrick until he caves.

All the while Garrick is determined to beat the odds and get back to smoke jumping. Even though he is still on crutches at best and in a wheelchair at worst. Being such an active guy his whole life, his ego and self worth are taking a serious beating. But Rain is so good and anticipating Garrick’s needs without taking over or making Garrick feel useless.

Oh- and a cute dog! If anything can make you feel better- I am convinced it is a dog. And Cookie definitely is her own character in the story.

Garrick and Rain each have their own personal ups and downs. They have the relationship crisis that then brings them back together again with eyes and hearts wide open.

This was sweet, fun, sexy as hell, exciting and a bit romantic. Really good follow up to book 1. Can’t wait for book 3!

4 Pieces of Eye Candy

I am just loving this series. It has heat from fires, and heat from the bedroom. All the HEAT! 🙂

Garrick, the injured smoke jumper from Book 1, is now home, and recovering from his injuries, hoping to get back to his high stakes job soon. And when he meets a sweet and skittish dog, and his neighbor’s grandson, Rain, his world is turned upside down again. Just what he needed.

I loved these two together. Rain didn’t fuss over Garrick, just gave him time to find what  he needed to do, and was willing to help when he was asked. Rain also had no problem being himself, whatever that was for him that day. Meanwhile, Garrick wasn’t the super masculine fire fighter who cared that his friend/boyfriend wanted to wear silver shorts or glittery tops. They were just each other when they were each other, what they both truly were looking for, first in a friend, then as lovers.

Cookie brought them together, but their own desires kept them together. Desires to be with each other, but also their future desires. Rain wanting to finally find a place he belonged. Garrick wanting to get back what he once had, but then stepping back up when he couldn’t and taking on a new place for himself.

Really enjoyed the wrap-up on this. It was just what these guys deserved.

Chapter One – Demanding Doms

Ivo

“Ideally, we want a sub that we both find attractive, but it’s the kinks that we are mainly interested in. Ivo is into medical play, and I’m more for bondage, sensation play, forced orgasms, that sort of thing. Naturally, we’ll both want to fuck him,” Griffin looked at Ivo, and Ivo nodded and said nothing.

It is better if Griffin spoke for them because his brain was organized to be best in this sort of situation; succinct, sensible, getting to the meat of the issue. The CEO briefing the room.

Ivo’s brain wasn’t like that, all Ivo wanted to say was, give me a boy that I can play with, give me a boy I can tether to my table and probe and slowly open and then sink into.

Griffin didn’t put his needs like that. He made bald statements without the hot details, but Ivo still got hard, his cock sluggishly filling against his thigh.

“I think it’s worth noting that we intend to play separately. If the contract is a success, then we don’t rule out scening together in the future, but that’s not a priority. Oh, and we neither of us like brats.” Griffin looked again at Ivo, checking in, and Ivo nodded again.

Dr. Gregory – he said they should call him Cash – peered at Ivo over his glasses, his moss-green eyes kind, a faint smile on his face. Ivo met his eyes across the cluttered desk and nodded again, “No, we don’t like brats,” he said. His voice sounded deeper, gruffer than he expected, “For this to work we need compliance. So we can have the scenes without drama, and then get back to being with each other.”

He felt Griffin tense beside him, his leg pressed against his own, hard, Wrong thing to say, made me sound inhuman, he thought, Should have stayed quiet.

Dr. Gregory looked at him quizzically.

“What Ivo means,” Griffin stepped smoothly into the faux pas, “Is that our relationship is the primary. The contract with Delphic is a sexual cherry on the top of the cake for us. We’re giving each other this as an anniversary present actually. I could have got him a new set of golf clubs; instead, I got us both a subscription to the Kink of the Month club!” he laughed, and Dr. Gregory smiled and made another note.

Everyone in the room knew that was a lie.

Ivo needed this, Griffin needed this, and their marriage needed this.

Ivo loved his husband, loved his heart and his drive, loved his skin and his cock and his panting breaths and his hot hands, and yet, he needed someone pliant and begging. He wanted big eyes that would well with tears and then flutter with bliss.  He needed, he needed – what Griffin couldn’t give.

He swallowed, he wasn’t alone in this, Griffin needed it too and now, finally, they earned enough, they were open and trusting enough with each other, they could have this.  He is sure they could have this.  They have to have this.

Griffin was speaking again, and Dr. Gregory was listening carefully, head tilted to one side. “We want to start with a longer-term contract, three months minimum,” Griffin was relaxed now, talking logistics, “Three days a week and every other weekend.  We’re happy for the sub to take on other contracts if they are feasible, but none that include an exchange of fluids because we both want to be able to come with him.  Weekly testing would still be mandatory, of course.”

Ivo found himself drifting again. They had tried it, meeting each other’s needs, of course they had, they loved each other. They had tried to switch, and it had been a disaster.  Ivo had taken it better. Griffin had dropped like a stone.  Ivo had gritted his teeth and endured.  Griffin hadn’t been able to look him in the face for days.

They were basically incompatible that way.

A contract with Delphic would solve everything, if it stayed neatly within the boundaries they built around it.  They were professional men, they could manage this.  God he hoped they could manage this.

“Married couples don’t do absolutely everything together,” Griffin had rationalised to Ivo when they got further than just hinting around the edges of the issue, “Nobody needs to witness anything, it will keep the mystique intact,”

And that sort of made sense to Ivo, although somehow he didn’t think that fucking a submissive fell into the same category of married life as toenail clipping and nasal hair trimming.  But he couldn’t deny either Griffin or himself because he could feel himself and his marriage fading to shades of grey for lack of it.

He swallowed at the fear that suddenly knotted his stomach.  He wasn’t used to fear, as a surgeon he was never fearful, but the thought of losing Griffin for lack of this scared the hell out of him.

Romilly wakes up every morning and decides which (witch) to be.  Some days Romilly is an Imp, some days a Fairy, some days a Stoic, and some days a Gladiator.   Romilly has a classical education, a filthy mouth and loves OTK spankings and strong Sirs who give love and punishment in equal measure.

Romilly is also very shy but makes every effort to engage with people from all walks of life.

Fire and Diamond by Andrew Grey: New Release Review

August 7, 2020 by Denise

When Deputy Nick Senaster chastises a bunch of college kids at a bar, he doesn’t think anything of it, even if their leader is gorgeous. The guy is too young and way too cocky, and soon Nick has an emergency foster placement to focus on. His first job is ensuring ten-year-old Ethan knows someone cares for him. But Nick doesn’t realize Ethan is a package deal.

When Alexander finds out his abusive stepfather, Dieter, has lost custody of his half brother, he’s torn between relief and dread. Alexander can’t get custody until he can provide a home for his tiny family. In the meantime, at least Ethan’s foster father will let Alexander visit.

So of course the man turns out to be the cute but dour cop who gave Alexander a hard time.

Soon Nick and Alexander discover they misjudged each other. Nick is more than an authoritarian automaton, and Alexander has a drive and a maturity that belie their first meeting. But between a campaign of intimidation from Dieter, their own insecurities, and the logistics of dating with Ethan’s fragile sense of stability hanging in the balance, they have their work cut out for them if they want to build a future.

Amazon

Another cute addition to the Carlisle PD, in this one we get to know Nick. Nick is a sheriff’s deputy with the department, so we also see a lot of our regulars, which I loved. But recently left by his partner, instead of going home to an empty house most nights, he goes and has dinner and a drink at his favorite bar that I don’t remember the name of right this second. That’s where he meets Alexander, though it’s a less than friendly meeting.

I did not like Alexander at first, he seemed like one of those entitled rich kids that spout the law like they don’t have to follow it just because they know it. As he’s just graduated law school, he just wanted to celebrate with a few of his classmates, but he really was a jerk… they all were. That didn’t seem promising to me, but we get past it… until Donald called and asked Nick if he could foster a young boy that had just been taken from his father… who happened to be Alexander’s step-father, making the young boy his brother.

Nick, being a former foster kid that eventually aged out of the system, was all for helping the young boy and after finding out who is brother was, he wanted to help him too. The part that aggravated me to no end, was the fact that the father KNEW the stipulations to his visitation and kept popping up at Alexanders work and Nick’s house, not to mention the school where Ethan goes, forced a lockdown, was always drunk and disorderly, caused numerous scenes and threatened every freaking body…. They never had him arrested. He was just told to leave, every single time. Nevermind this guy had a basement dungeon he locked his son in, nevermind he verbally and sometimes physically abused him and directly disobeyed a court order… he never got arrested and everyone was reminding the guys that the courts like to reunite kids with their abusive parents, so be prepared for that… and I’m over here like WHAT??? I mean, I know that CPS and the system fail kids so so often, but this guy…. He should’ve at the very least been arrested for child abuse, neglect and violating visitation laws, but nay… he was free to keep harassing them all and eventually kidnapping the kid AND Alexander… separate occasions. It had me steaming.

If you can get past all that though, I did enjoy seeing Alexander fighting for his brother, Nick being there for both of them and Nick and Alexander getting together, which felt really quick to me, but it worked for them. I liked how real Ethan’s struggles were, as dark as they were at times. I always appreciate the realness of these situations because they’re becoming more and more talked about, more people are taking notice of it in real life…. I think that’s why it frustrated me so bad to know that their dad kept getting away with everything because it’s like… why is nobody doing anything about this?

Fictional, I know, but I reckon it hit close to home with me on this one. Overall, very sweet story though and I adore this series. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Two Chicks Obsessed with Books and Eye Candy
✨EXCERPT: KNOCKED SIDEWAYS by @cagardnerwrites releasing October 22nd! If he put his mind to it, he was totally capable of more or less ignoring Jed except for maybe giving him a casual “Hey.”Totally capable. But. Jed was sitting on the bench in nothing but a towel. Which, again, no big deal. This was a locker room. Lots of guys were in towels. It didn’t affect Remy at all. He certainly wasn’t noticing the thick sprinkling of blond hair on Jed’s chest or the beads of water on his broad shoulders. With all that not-noticing, Remy completely failed to give Jed any kind of greeting at all.“Nice practice today,” Jed said finally, once Remy managed to meet his eyes.“Thanks.” Remy tried to channel Petey’s chill vibe and failed, because his voice came out higher-pitched than usual.Jed didn’t give any indication that he noticed Remy’s reaction to him. He kept talking like it was a normal chat between two regular teammates, one of whom definitely wasn’t checking the other out. “I’m going to grab some food nearby. Want to join me?”Well, damn. How was Remy supposed to be chill about that? “Hal likes the defensive players to get to know each other,” Jed continued, maybe thinking that Remy needed the invitation explained.“Right, yeah, makes sense.” Obviously, the invitation was about the team. Unfortunately, that didn’t change how not-ready Remy was for this. Once the words started, they didn’t stop. “Sure, sounds great. I’m hungry. So yeah, food is good.”And now Jed was looking amused. It was actually hard to tell because his expression never changed much, so Remy couldn’t be completely sure. But Jed should be looking amused, because of course Remy had used about four times as many words as he needed, which was the exact opposite of chill. Still. It wasn’t every day your former idol—not obsession, whatever Lily might claim—asked you out for a meal. Remy was allowed to be a little bit non-chill about this.#cagardner #mmromance #hockeyromance The Author Agency ...

✨It’s cover reveal day for ALEXITHYMIA by @jillian_wray_author releasing November 24th!You will love Alexithymia if you love…🔥Surgeon x Motocross Racer/Patient🔥Age Gap (20 years)🔥Forbidden Romance 🔥Forced Proximity🔥Grumpy/Sunshine🔥Slow Burn, High TensionAlexithymia is a forbidden, age-gap MM romance between a surgeon and his patient. It is a slow burn with high tension and ends with a hard-earned HEA.CASEYBeing a motocross racer who can’t feel physical pain definitely has its perks.I take risks others won’t because I don’t fear getting hurt. Not even when an accident leaves me in a heap on the dirt track, fighting for my life.Which is how I meet Dr. Declan Porter, an emotionally stunted, sexy-as-hell, absolute asshole of a surgeon.Since I can’t leave this hospital bed for the foreseeable future, pushing Declan’s buttons seems like a great way to pass the time. But eventually, it’s time for me to leave, and all I can think about is seeing him again. He thinks we can’t cross that line because I’ll need him to stitch my body back together, but I’m more interested in convincing him to take me apart.DECLANI’ve never crossed a line with a patient. Not even the one who accused me of sexual harassment a few years ago. It’s never been an issue until hotshot motocross racer Casey McIntyre shows up in my OR. The kid has an ego the size of a jetliner and the boldest mouth anyone’s ever used toward me.I want to ignore him, or pass him off to my residents, but when the hospital CEO demands that I personally oversee Casey’s care, I know I’m in trouble.Nothing is worth losing my medical license for.Especially a patient half my age with a career choice and congenital disorder that will require my specialized skillset in the future.Casey is hellbent on getting under my skin, and the longer I’m around him, the more I start to think maybe I want him there.#coverreveal #jilliandwray #mmromance The Author Agency ...

It’s too bad my kid also loves him. It’s too bad I’m starting to see what the hype is all about. Especially because the hype is making me want things I can’t have. ✨TEASER: THE LOCKDOWN MANN by @rileyhartwrites releasing October 22nd! Why you need to #ONECLICK this book…🔥Second Chance🔥Single Father 🔥Secret Relationship 🔥Professional Football Players 🔥Competitive MCs🔥Anonymous Online Messaging 🔥MM RomanceDesmondI was sixteen years old when I met Oakley Manning during a family beach vacation. He was funny, gorgeous, as obsessed with football as I was, and hurting after his mom abandoned him.For two weeks, we were inseparable. Oakley made me feel complete, settling something inside me.Then one night, I kissed him…and he kissed me back. When he walked away afterward, I pretended it hurt less than it did. It’s a lesson that’s stuck with me—the people I want never choose me back. OakleyEverything about what I shared with Desmond Jackson was perfect. Then, on the last morning of our trip, my ex-girlfriend-slash-best friend dropped a bomb: “I’m pregnant.” For the sake of the baby, we decided to make it work.Eleven years later, Serena and I are still best friends, but our relationship is over, though we haven’t told anyone. Between her mom’s recent diagnosis and our daughter, we aren’t ready for more complications.Enter Des, recently traded to L.A.’s second pro football team—my team being the first. Now he’s always in my periphery, infuriating and needling me…and still capable of making my pulse race. Our chemistry is as combustive as ever. Des worships my body in ways I’ve never experienced, but he doesn’t believe in forever, and I can’t do casual. We compete at everything, but he doesn’t know he’s already won my heart. I just hope it’s a prize he wants…and that my world won’t implode if I have him.#rileyhart #mmromance The Author Agency ...
