I love a good angsty book. So that is my biggest complaint about this book- not angsty enough. Teehee
Morgan- innocent guy moves to the city from upstate New York. He is a kindergarten teacher who falls for and marries a high powered lawyer. Who turns into a husband beater. So when Morgan is able to escape in the middle of the night, he does. And spends a year crashing with friends. But it is time for his own place.
Off he goes to Brooklyn. I do love that it is set in Brooklyn. I don’t think the boroughs get enough rep.
Leo owns the building that Morgan rents an apartment from and acts as the super. Leo comes off as super grouchy, but I think he is just kind of quiet. He’s that guy who listens but doesn’t say a lot- especially about himself.
But Morgan wedges himself into Leo’s brain and they both can’t stop thinking about each other. But Morgan was hurt- literally and figuratively- by his last relationship and Leo is hurt by what should be an easy relationship- that with his mother.
They are classic opposites attract but it totally works for them. But really, they are just 2 regular guys. They work hard because they enjoy what they do, but they aren’t workaholics who want to just be rich. They are happy in their Brooklyn neighborhood.
For two guys with messed up pasts, they fit into each other’s lives perfectly.
