Sometimes, the road to happily ever after takes you where you least expect it.
Skye was only interested in finally losing his virginity, but he might have found much more than that. Two guys both feel so right to the twenty-one-year old art student, but maybe that means they cancel each other out. After all, if either was the one, Skye wouldn’t have feelings for both of them. Would he?
But what if he really did just meet the love of his life?
This male/male romance is for ADULT READERS ONLY. It includes graphic sex and explicit language. Skye Blue is the sixth book in Alexa Land’s best-selling Firsts and Forever series, but each book can also be read as a stand-alone, so jump in anywhere.
Chicks: Thank you so much, Alexa, for taking time out of your busy writing
schedule to answer these burning questions.
let’s get right to it. Big mystery in
Skye Blue. Anything you want to say on
it? **turns big pleading eyes to Alexa, hoping for a hint**
Nazi for a moment there! A lot of my
readers were asking me who Skye’s love interest was as I was writing Skye Blue,
but it wasn’t someone that had appeared in previous books. I really liked the
idea of Skye and my readers meeting this person at the same moment. The question
of who he ends up with continues through the first half of the book, so I’m
still not saying a word. 🙂
Firsts and Forever series is now on book 6, Skye Blue. Do you have ideas for future books in this
series? **still pleading, hoping for
some of her favorite characters to have stories ahead**
main characters, this series will keep going as long as my readers keep asking
for more. Christian’s book is next up, and I have plans for many books after
his. As to which characters will be the focus of those future stories, you’ll
just have to stay tuned and find out. 🙂
really enjoy continuing to catch up with previous books’ couples as we continue
this series. Even though each book is
stand alone, I love seeing what they are up to. Will we still see some cameos
by other couples in future books? (Please say yes…all of them! 🙂)
My books are about the beginnings of relationships, where two people find each
other and fall in love. As a reader, I always want to know what happens after a
book ends. Where does that happily ever after take the characters? What’s life
like for them months and years down the road? The nice thing about writing a
series is that these questions can be answered, and we never really have to say
goodbye to our favorite characters.
Nana up to her old tricks in Skye Blue? And was she a “surprise” character for
you? Did she pop out of nowhere, then
just continue to grow on you with each book?
as a bit of comic relief in All In, and she just took off! She’s such a joy to
write since she’ll pretty much say and do anything, and she has a lot of fun
scenes in Skye Blue. I love the fact that so many people have completely taken
her to heart.
love all the characters in this series, but will confess that Nana may just be
my favorite, since she reminds me a bit of my own sassy grandmother. Do you have a favorite character? (I’m
guessing it is a little like picking a favorite child?)
in a lot of ways, my characters almost become family! There are a couple
characters that really have a hold on my heart, though. I’ll always love Christopher
from In Pieces, especially his inner strength and resiliency. He’s had so much
to deal with in life, but he just keeps pushing forward no matter what.
paranormal series The Tinder Chronicles. The great thing about Tinder is that
he’s so human. He makes mistakes and
bad choices. He’s stubborn and snarky as hell. And I love him for it! Maybe
it’s ironic that the character that feels most “real” to me is a vampire hunter
in a paranormal series, but he really does.
BFC. Have you tried it? Is it delicious? Will you try it? And is it really as
big as I think it is?
didn’t like! I think everyone should try a BFC at least once in his or her
life. And afterwards, they should have a cocktail. 🙂
cover of Skye Blue is great! I might have heard from a little birdie that you
do your own covers. Is that true? If so, why do you choose to do that?
I do them myself. Since I’m an independent author, it started out as a
necessity. I needed covers for my books and had no budget whatsoever to hire
someone. Now though, I do my own covers because I love the creative control. I
spend huge amounts of time scouring stock photo sites for models that match the
characters in my mind’s eye. It’s such a great ah-ha moment when I find the
perfect photo! I’ve had readers tell me they love the fact that my cover models
really look like my descriptions of the characters. That right there is a great
reason to keep doing my own covers!
lived near San Francisco for many years, it is obvious to me that you know the
city and surrounding area very well.
Have you spent lots of time there?
Do you have a place you always like to go when you visit the area? (I’m
going to confess to being a super dork here.
I love to go to the San Francisco Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum. I
dorky! I’m just kidding. As my readers know, I’m a megadork, so who am I to
places! I lived in the heart of the city for five years and before and after
that I lived in Santa Cruz, just down the coast. It’s about a six hour drive
from where I live now, but I still get down there several times a year. My list
of must-dos in the city is huge! Every time I’m there, I just have to go to
Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, admire the view from Twin Peaks, enjoy a stroll
around the Palace of Fine Arts, have a meal at Greens, shop in the Haight – oh
man, now I want to visit the city!
its fourth day of release, Skye Blue hit Number One on Amazon in the categories
Gay Romance, Gay and Lesbian Fiction, Gay Fiction, and as I write this is #298
in the entire Kindle store. How are you feeling about that? (I’m gonna go ahead
and channel Nana here and say EFF YEAH for you…but I’ll let you answer.)
are the ones that made this happen. I told a friend once that without my
readers, I would just be some weirdo in Oregon writing stories about man-on-man
lovin’ for absolutely no reason, LOL! But that’s actually true. To every single
person that took a chance on an independent author they’d never heard of and
bought one of my books, then kept coming back for more: thank you.
appreciation party on my Facebook page beginning this weekend. Everyone should
come on over and check it out, because I’m giving away some fun prizes!
will you be working on next?
installment of The Tinder Chronicles. That series never really caught on, but
even so, it’s garnered a few incredibly loyal, enthusiastic readers. For their
sake – and mine – I just have to finish off the series, even if it isn’t a commercial
Forever series. Christian’s story is up next, and you can be sure Nana will be
bringing the laughs! She’s planning ambush weddings for Trevor and Vincent, as
well as Brian and Hunter! And of course, all the questions about our mysterious
graffiti artist Christian will be answered. His love interest, sweet and
oh-so-sexy police officer Shea Nolan really has his work cut out for him with
our boy Christian!
