A few hours later, after being relentlessly teased by Deirdre who wanted to know, “Where he kept finding all these hot twinks from,” Sam fled gratefully upstairs for some lunch.
As he entered his living room, he stopped in astonishment at the sight that greeted him. Every single surface was covered in flowers. All his cups, teapots and pots had been repurposed as vases. It was colorful, messy chaos. There was water and mud absolutely everywhere, including ground into the carpet. Some of the flowers were battered and drooping. Others looked squashed.
Tally turned around and beamed at him. Looking very pleased with himself. “Flowers represent love!” he declared.
Sam blinked several times, but every time he opened his eyes, the flowers were still there. They looked familiar, he was sure he had seen them somewhere before.
“Did you steal all of these from the park?” he asked in alarm.
Tally nodded happily. “Jinx helped me,” he said, before turning to his friend, who had just taken a huge bite out of one of the flowers. “Jinx! No! You can’t eat them!”
Jinx glared, but spat out a mouthful of bright yellow petals before crossing his arms and pouting. Sam saw that he was now dressed in some of Danny’s old clothes.
Tally turned his attention back to Sam. “Will you have sex with me now?” he asked hopefully, his eyes shining.

I love characters that are battered and broken by life, who through the course of finding love, discover they are strong.
I like to pour my dark past into my characters and hope I will be forgiven.
Despite everything, because of everything, I will always believe that love conquers all.
